Rovers reserves took the lead through Jonathan Douglas in the 12th minute, when he headed home a rebound after Jemal Johnson’s shot from 18 yards had come back into play after hitting the post.

Rovers went further ahead in the 23rd minute when Sergio Peter tapped in Gary Hawkin’s right wing cross.

As Everton starting to threaten in the second half Rovers went 3-0 up when Matt Derbyshire rose above the Everton defence to head home a 60th minute corner.

In the 81st minute Everton struck back with a Chadwick powerfull shot that gave Drench in the Rovers goal no chance.
