Hughesy Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Home game, lost only 2 there this season. I see a win for rovers. 2-1 Stead to score the winner

G Somerset Rover Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Everton are as stingy at conceding goals as Doug Ellis is with his chequebook. It will be a tight game, with neither side giving much away, however I'd go with either 0-0 or 0-1 Everton.
Ossydave Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 So will YOU take me up on the bet? Love to - shall we say a tenner? Was thinking a little more than a tenner. £50?
American Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I'll bet you 20 pounds, with the loser having to give the money to the site.
Nayef Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 So will YOU take me up on the bet? Love to - shall we say a tenner? Was thinking a little more than a tenner. £50? Could I simply say that Ossydave's location is "Not Given"?

broadsword Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 We don't know where Dave from Ossy lives? Yep, 'tis a mystery.

den Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Everton's official site reckon 40% of the crowd on Saturday will be Everton fans!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 So they haven't sold out yet but expect 40% of the crowd to be Everton!.............
SAS Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I think someone from that site has not been doing there maths. 22,000 - 7,500 = 14,500 which would mean nearly 2 blackburn fans for every one everton. which means around 30% everton
Manchester Blue Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 They are also ignoring the fact that Spurs only brought about 2,000 so if we have the same amount of home fans again then the attendance should be nearer 28,000. Other than that they are spot on. Anyway back to this bet come on Scotty I know you love a gamble and after all, £50 is peanuts to you. Beers on you if you win.
philipl Posted December 16, 2004 Author Posted December 16, 2004 Blackburn Rovers wins draws Everton wins League 53 27 52 FA Cup 2 1 7 Other 0 0 2 Total 55 28 61 A bit of history shows we are shading it in the league- by one! Unfortunately the results at Ewood in the last 5 are: W L W L W - all pointing to a L on Saturday
Scotty Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 So will YOU take me up on the bet? Love to - shall we say a tenner? Was thinking a little more than a tenner. £50? No probs. I'd have thought £50 would be about a months wages for someone from Ossy but, if you're prepared to not eat for a month then I'll gladly take it off your hands. £50 bet - Everton to finish 6th or higher. May the best man win.

They did the double over us in 02/3 and we did the same last season. Omens...
neophox Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 I would play like this against Everton on saturday: Friedel Neill, Todd, Johansson, Gray Emerton, Reid/Douglas, Ferguson, Pedersen Stead, Gallacher/Bothroyd Bench: Dickov (too small and miss sitters) the other two Enckelman why not Sergio Peter or Jemal Johnson. Out of bench: Matteo (still crap when he comes up against a good side, palace were poor) Jansen (still injured)
LeChuck Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Friedel Neill, Todd, Johansson, Gray Emerton, Reid/Douglas, Ferguson, Pedersen Stead, Gallacher/Bothroyd Replace Reid/Douglas with Flitcroft and I would agree with that, given the strength of Everton's central midfield I don't think experiment with either of those would be a good idea. The rest looks good though, however I'm expecting: Friedel Neill Short Todd Matteo Reid Flitcroft Ferguson Emerton Dickov Bothroyd
SuperStella Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 from bbc.co.uk Blackburn will be without midfielder David Thompson who serves a one-match ban after being sent off in the goalless draw at Crystal Palace. Andy Todd should shake off an ankle knock to partner Craig Short in the centre of Rovers' defence. Everton defender Alessandro Pistone is expected to shake off a knee strain. A further boost for boss David Moyes is the return of striker Kevin Campbell for the first time in a month with a busy festive programme ahead. Blackburn (from): Friedel, Enckelman, Dickov, Short, Douglas, Emerton, Ferguson, Flitcroft, De Pedro, Gray, Johansson, Matteo, Neill, Stead, Pedersen, Gallagher, Reid, Todd, Bothroyd. Everton (from): Martyn, Hibbert, Weir, Stubbs, Pistone, Carsley, Gravesen, Cahill, Kilbane, Osman, Bent, Ferguson, McFadden, Wright, Watson, Yobo, Naysmith, Chadwick, Campbell.
Hughesy Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 According to a Everton supporters site, they have only 60 tickets remaining for tomorrows game.
Grabbi Graeme Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 I'm not sure about this one, maybe this is the game that starts Everton's slide or there again maybe not. With Everton's very good defence I cant see us getting much from them, hoping for a 0-0 but just maybe we could sneak a goal
northernrover Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 don't know if anyone else has said about this song but here it is; feed the dingles, let them know it's christmas time. ps has northern rover got a fiat what??? i thought it said has northern rover got a fat. Umm, yeah he's got a bit why p.s who the dont use that word again are you??
philipl Posted December 17, 2004 Author Posted December 17, 2004 Ronnie Clayton interviewed by Everton.
thenodrog Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 (edited) Looking at the team sheets..... and taking nothing away from Evertons success this season but I think we should be looking to win this game. Given a free choice the only players that are stronger 'on paper' than ours and that I would bring into out team like a shot are Graveson and Stubbs. btw I do freely admit that the Prem league tables are also printed 'on paper' too.
