MCMC1875 Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 (edited) The gave will not be called off because of the pitch. There are only two possible reasons....... 1) John Newsham and the safety team at the ground deem it to be unsafe in the stands and concourses (probably only the Riverside) 2) The police decide its to dangerous for the best part of 30,000 to descend of a snow bound Blackburn, given that the gritters have been out in force today I doubt this will be the case. But I have been wrong before. Anyone remember the last game that was called off cos of snow Edited December 27, 2004 by MCMC1875
Martin Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 (edited) Merry Christmas everybody! Just wondering what the situation is regarding snow. I shall be travelling over as usual from Scunthorpe tomorrow would anybody strongly advise me not too? What are the surrounding roads like? It loked pretty bad on the news. If anybody has any information or could post a quick update in the morning that would be super! Edited December 25, 2004 by Martin
John Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 (edited) What is the weather situation like? I here road conditions not the best. Just that I am driving down with a couple of mates from Edinburgh in the morning. Edited December 25, 2004 by John
Alan75 Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 Would second Martin & Johns comments about the weather. Travelling North tomorrow morning, would be good to have a weather forecast before 11 am. Cheers Alan
cn_barlow Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 just drove from Rochdale to haslingden.....no problems. motorway is fine and the minor roads aren't too bad either...we passed a gritter on the motorway so looks like they'll be out tonight. Should be fine for tmw!
jw_ Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Does anybody know if there is a live commentary on the game and on which station.
Bobby G Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 LETS GO BLACKBURN!!! A big game, the players will be well up to it,to prove that they arent a lesser club than Newcastle. If they arent determined for this game, then I dont know when they would be! Lets hope our finishing improves in this game. BIG BIG Game. Any team news of any kind?
Paul Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 For those who are driving from a distance. I live 15 minutes from Ewood. The roads are clear but many local roads have not been gritted and are very icy. We have a beautiful bright, very cold morning. Can't imagine there being a problem with the game but take care on the local roads. Those of us who use Albion Mill to park - it's gonna be fun getting in and out of there!
John Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Thanks for the travel updates guys! Setting off in an hour.... feeling very nervous today, could not sleep last night- think there will be a cracking atmosphere today and dare I say it I have a feeling we will win!

Kiwiwannabe Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 according to staff NO tickets on sale Boxing Day I thought that was the case too, but the official site says tickets available upto kick-off: Tickets still available
Bobby G Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Got a sneaky feeling that MGP might get a few minutes today. I just feel that if he gets his chance, he may just do something special!
Lathund Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Well, if there's snow involved MGP should be great After all Tromsö is north of Berings Strait, and I remember seeing a videoclip from a game early this season (The Norwegian season that is) where it was snowing so much you could hardly see the ball and the players. Anyway, 2-1 Rovers. Kluivert for them, not sure who will score for us.
Sydney Rovers Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Team news from the Rovers Offical Site; http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/New...~605409,00.html Only two changes, Johansson on for Short and Stead for Bothroyd. BTW, why is Bothroyd absent, don't remember hearing about an injury?
krislu Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 (edited) BTW, why is Bothroyd absent Because he's been rubbish the last couple of games? Btw, Soton - Charlton 0-0 FULL TIME! COME ON ROVERS! Edited December 26, 2004 by krislu
