modes98
Can't say i'm too dissapointed at this deal. I think that £3million is the top price i would ever consider paying for him. Micky gray is on decent wages and isn't playing so theres no real point in keeping him and we got him free so theres no problem with losing him. Hoped we could have signed him in time to face pompey but i guess not unless JW can get his skates on and get him registered in 36mins. Ste B
SSN - JW and Brady in talks now. Bruce has said that savage may well have played last game for Brum.
Paul
Sounds good from the BBC Hughes quoted from the club: "I want one in but none out"
Dan Furness
Get him in and let Ferguson go for all I care. Savage influences games more than Ferguson, and for someone who obviously wants to leave, get the money we can.

Ste B
Hughes on SSN - hopeful something will be sorted over weekend. Also to sell somebody of Fergusons stature will be stupid.

Martin
Oh by the way, watch Everton slide now. Tommy G is a top, top player for them. If we get Sav in and Fergie stays, It will have been a decent january.
andyrovers
Leats hope Savage signs and Ferguson stays, we need to build up a decent squad and climb up the table. A good FA Cup run would also help bring back the 'stray fans' and up the Ewwod attendance. P.S Dingles for the drop !!!
Claytons Left Boot
If it's Fergy out and Savage in, as someone has already said, I feel we will be shafted twice. Once on a reduced Rangers fee (I don't think we'll recoup) and then on paying over the odds for Savage.
adopted scouser
I think Fergie will stay, Savage will replace Toogs.

RoyRover
I'm not mad about signing Savage, especially for a reported £3 million, but the idea that he could replace Ferguson, is ridiculous. He doesn't have the same passing and technical ability of Barry. Savage gets stuck in and gets the tem going. Skysports are reporting that Bruce has confirmed that Birmingham are in talks with Blackburn over Savage.
broadsword
Er if Savage doesn't have the same technical ability, how come he takes a better free-kick than Fergie? There seems to be a big mythology about Fergie. He's not a bad player, but not a 7.5m one, and he hasn't pulled up any trees, has he? I don't ever recall saying: "Wow, great piece of individual skill tehre from fergie".
AussieinUk
If Savage is in, thats great, I wouldn'y mind him in the blue/white halfs, but Mr Hughes, please get rid of some of the dead wood.. De Pedro for one
Flopsy
Barry lets the team tick, at the moment hes having to work harder without having the freedom to get forward. Hopefully the legs and engine of Savage will allow him to influence the game a bit more

philipl
Hughes talking about Ferguson and Savage in the same interview. "One in, no-one out." Elsewhere he says a straight transfer will bring in Savage so the widely reported speculation of Gray being the makeweight seems to be wrong. Perhaps Rovers want the Savage deal done without waiting for negotiations around Gray to be concluded. Certainly the Mirror got over-excited about Savage in, Gray out, Fergie out, Ball in.
