philipl Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 (edited) did rangers not have a share issue a few months ago Waggy, Rangers were £76m in debt. The share issue "only" raised £52m so they failed to raise the money they hoped for. In a good footballing year, Rangers lost £29m last year. This year, they failed to get into the Champions League so their losses are immediately £15m worse before they start trying to find economies. No doubt there were welders on board the Titanic... (wrong era but you get my drift!) Edited January 28, 2005 by philipl

Bobby G Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Ive heard the Scottish Sun have said today that Barry is desperate to go home according to himself and his heart is set on it.Any link?
Nuclearsox Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Isn't this just what always happens? One club makes a bid. It's turned down. They scrimp and scrape to make an improved "final" offer. It's turned down. They say the deal's dead and usually "It's the player I feel sorry for." Then the player moves two days later for an undisclosed fee. The deal is dead. I feel sorry for Barry in all of this ... There it is!! Do you work for Rangers?!
Hughesy Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Very good work by williams. He seems to be staying strong on this deal. Glad to see we aint letting a player leave on the cheap. If he stays then him and savage in the centre could be very effective
Duff's Minder Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 I don't like this. Ferguson hasn't seemed the most motivated of players at the best of times - how's he supposed to start turning it on now? I'm not saying the club have any choice here, just that a miserable player is not what a team fighting relegation need.
Hughesy Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 How about we offer him a chance to go to newcastle. Its alot closer to scotland and we could offer a swap deal for bellamy!
thenodrog Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 How about we offer him a chance to go to newcastle. Its alot closer to scotland and we could offer a swap deal for bellamy! Yeah. Good original thinking Hughesy. I wonder why no one else has thought of that?

philipl Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Post hoc rationalisation to cover their embarassment- you know half the Scottish papers write what Murray tells them to

I seem to remember hearing that most of that moeny actually came direct from David Murray's pocket
todd_could_take_tyson Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 (edited) Dado, you work for a bank you told us. You must be used to reading legal documents. Go read the FIFA Regulations on transfers and agents. Would you say Rangers and Viola have contributed to "The Maintenance of Stability" in the contract between Blackburn Rovers and Barry Ferguson as prescribed by FIFA? You blame Viola for this farce. Rangers played along as well. EDITED - Please don't use personal insults Ricky Edited January 28, 2005 by Ricky

den Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Quotes from John Williams. " I never thought Rangers were serious after their initial bid of £3m." Scottish Herald
Aberdeen Blue Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 BBC reporting that Hun keeper Klos out for rest of the season. Seems like they might have more pressing transfer issues in sight than wee Baz.
SuperStella Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 I think Ferguson should play tomorrow; these are the type of games he thrives on arent they? cr@p team, cr@p ground etc... just like most teams in Scotland... Who wants to be playing the likes of Arsenal, United, Livepool anyway?!!
Jan Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Klos out for the season. Oh dear. And considering he's been the only thing between them and a right good hiding more than once this season.................... Maybe we could fool them into thinking Amoruso is a goalkeeper????
Radagast Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Post hoc rationalisation to cover their embarassment- you know half the Scottish papers write what Murray tells them to No, it was stated when Murray came back in to control at Rangers that he hoped to raise £52m through the rights issue. Unless Murray's vast fortune has also equipped him with a flying De Lorean, it raised what he intitially said that he hoped it would.
den Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Ferguson due to hold showdown talk. He thinks rovers were asking an unreasonable sum. L.E.T. He would be better advised to ask Murray why they provoked him into asking for a transfer, then wouldn't/couldn't pay the fee.
Jan Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 (edited) Bet he didn't think that when we gave his beloved Rangers £6.5million for the little toe-rag first time round Edited January 28, 2005 by Jan
den Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 He obviously thought that Rovers would simply write off £3.5m, just so he could go play football somewhere else. Moderators aren't allowed to swear. Shame.
Jan Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 I think you're probably right, Den. He just thought we'd cave in. I hope we don't. Words cannot express how much I dislike this guy. I disliked him when he was with Rangers, but was prepared, in the spirit of Scottish solidarity, to give him a chance with us, but he's been everything I thought he'd be. (This doesn NOT include talented, or creative, or ANYTHING positive). Wish we could sell him for £6m for him then to take a long walk off a very short pier.
Bobby G Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 SCREW HIM. Where does he get off?We are asking for an unreasonable sum?But 18 months ago it was all alright ya?Now he has gone too far. We have bent over backwards for him during his hard times, this is how he repays us?At least Savage helped his club for 2 years!
Oklahoma Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Newcastle has money to buy him now. Do you think Souness will come for him?
