I don't think that's how it works, but I could be wrong

If you can get the papers through to the FA before midnight, then yes you can continue working on minor details, but at that point basically everything would have to be decided anyway.

Nope. Player has to be registered with the relevant FA by midnight. So we would have have a bid accepted, agree terms and pass any medical. I think that Rovers would have known this afternoon that Ferguson was going to hopefully they have been working on getting in a player whilist also negotiating the transfer with Rangers. Not hopeful but you never know......
