waggy Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 being a menber of a very undesirable football site i asked one off the cardiff members to answer a few questions. 1 what was your views from the 1st game. PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON. 1 we more than matched you boyos, cannot wait till we reach the premier to play big teams every week. 2 what did you think of blackburn's support. PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON 2 very suprised with the numbers you brought, with your bad reputation 'as fair weather fans' i thought you would only bring 2-300. 3who impressed you in the blackburn team PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON 3 the goalscorer and the centre backs, todd and johansen 4 what are your expectations this season PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON 4 we will survive this season, and a good cup run. 5 how many cardiff do you expect at the replay. PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON 5 1,500 would be my guess,we have a full coach leaving at 9am in the morning. 6 your prediction for the replay PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON 6 i'm going for a 2-1 victory for the blue birds. hope the mods don't mind me starting this.

Jordan Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Not too confident about this one but hopefully we will scrape through. 2-1 Rovers AET
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I expect a win by a couple of goals hopefully.I dont think Sparky will rest players especially cause Dickov is suspended with Bolton anyway, and that game is 5 days later on Monday and not Saturday.
AussieinUk Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 5 how many cardiff do you expect at the replay. PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON 5 1,500 would be my guess,we have a full coach leaving at 9am in the morning. That must be one helluva big coach!! -just what I was thinking when I read it. Not going to predict on this one, but hopefully the boys will come through with a comfortable win.
Paul Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 5 1,500 would be my guess,we have a full coach leaving at 9am in the morning. Capacity is only 3 0,500
Alan75 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Leaving at 9am - 8pm kick off. Are they going to drink the Fernhurst dry...
philipl Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 That coach cannot go very fast with all those taffies on the roof! The official site is saying that the extra day of recovery time for next Monday's Bolton match will hopefully allow Ferguson and Bothroyd to come into the reckoning for that game which presumably means they are both ruled out of the replay with injuries. I'd like to see Matty given a run out against Cardiff- he did pretty well when he came on at Pompey from the highlights I saw. More of the same (if not even better) from MGP and Mokoena please. Try Thommo and Reid in the centre midfield or Thommo and Flitty? I would stick with Nissa at left back because the Bluebirds must have Matteo marked out as the Rovers' weak link. It would be nice not only to survive but to win by more than one goal, and in normal time as well! Rovers 3 Cardiff 1 High hopes deflated if Rovers do not prevail in this one. However, one of the Prem sides in this weeks replays and rearranged game will go out- odds on.
northernrover Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 5 how many cardiff do you expect at the replay. PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON 5 1,500 would be my guess,we have a full coach leaving at 9am in the morning. That must be one helluva big coach!! Maybe it's the new air"bus" A380(??) that they're hiring. My understanding is that it's making it's maiden voyage today and i've heard its a pretty big bus. It's even got restaurants, bars and casinos on board. So i suppose as long as it's not too wide for the motorways, they'll be using it to get 'up north'.
Blackburn Ender Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Nelson, too, should continue with Paul G up front.
Kiwiwannabe Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Nelson, too, should continue with Paul G up front. I don't think Nelsen is eligable to play because he wasn't signed when the first match was played.
SAS Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 should be a tough game, but i expect us fully to win this. 3-1
James No. 7 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 My prediction: Rovers to beat Cardiff 2 - 0 (3 - 1 on aggregate), with MGP and Thompson scoring.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Rovers to win 2-0. Hughes to send out a clear message to both players and supporters alike that cup games DO matter to this club!! 7,600
benhben Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 (edited) We should have enough to overcome cardiff at home. I think we should play an attacking and youthful side but with enough experience to make sure of the result. Friedel Neil todd Mokoena Gray Thompson Douglas Pedersen Gally Johnson Stead Why not try giving Johnson a go, gally could be at his best behind a front two as he tends to come deep. keep pedersens form and confidence going, give stead a chance to end his goal drought. I think gray is a more attacking full back and suitable for home games, he might be more like last season now. Also Johansson a rest for the more importiant league and keep moko in the side following his good performances. Would like to play nelsen but hes unavailable. Edited January 17, 2005 by benhben
Flopsy Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 too much confidence - it'll go to pens. which we lose Stead to start
rosie Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 No, I'm quietly optimistic about this one. I think we'll win it 3-1 and go on a decent run in the cup.
mhead Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Hoping for 2-0 and 11,000 including 41 from this Board(plus a few more who decide to sneak in) Then the row about the Colchester tickets starts!!
joey_big_nose Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Team I would like to see: Gallagher Dickov Pedersen Reid Thompson Emerton Johansson Mokeona Todd Niell Friedel Subs: Stead, Jansen, Tugay, Matteo, Enckleman Thats presuming Flitcroft is still out- is he? 2-0 Rovers (Gallager, Thompson)
RoyRover Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 (edited) Gallagher Dickov Pedersen Reid Thompson Emerton Johansson Mokeona Todd Niell Friedel That's basically the team I'd put out, although I'd give Gray or McEveley a game at left back and start Jansen over Gallagher. Dickov will play, seeing as he is suspended for the Bolton game. I hope Jemal Johnson gets another run out. He looked quite good, from his brief appearence. Rovers to win this one 3-1. Is the game on TV? BBC Wales possibly? You can pick that up through Sky. Edited January 17, 2005 by RoyRover
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Id be foolish to say I expect us to win,but come on we got to,even if we put out 5-6 reserves. Id start MGP,Stead (gotta score now),Reid in the middle as a test,McEveley or Gray at left back. 3-4 changes to Saturdays team to freshen it up,giving rests to a couple of players.
philipl Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 We've got to take this competition seriously. I am looking for a close to full strength team similar to the one we fielded in Cardiff. Man U played a team of girls and look what Exeter did to them at OT. Quite right too.
Quack Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Hughes will take the FA cup seriously I am sure, 3-1 to Rovers, I could not survive another penalty shoot out this season.
American Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I'd start Encks in goal. If he truly is the future, he should be given chances like this to prove it.
