Blackburn Rovers continue to be at the centre of a midfield musical chairs. The Rovers skipper Barry Ferguson today handed in a written transfer request, presumably in the hope this would clear the way for his reurn to Glasgow Rangers. BBC _ Ferguson asks to leave Blackburn Meanwhile Birmingham City have completed the one year loan signing of Liverpool's Salif Diao as a probable replacement for Robbie Savage.

Earlier this evening Rovers confirmed they have agreed a fee with Birmingham City for Robbie Savage. According to the club the "next stage" will be to discuss personal terms and for the player to undergo a medical.
