Alan75 Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 With just under a week left before the transfer window closes, there are indications that despite already signing 3 players, there may be some more new faces arriving at Ewood Park, with a loan striker high on the list of priorities. Rovers' Chief Executive John Williams is being reported as saying: `If there is an opportunity to bring in a striker on loan before the transfer window shuts then that is something Mark would be interested in doing. One striker currently being linked to Rovers by the media gossip columns is Newcastle’s Craig Bellamy who has recently fallen out with Souness. Mark Hughes who was Bellamy’s International manager is reportedly to be monitoring the situation at St James' Park, and whilst Rovers could be struggling to meet Newcastle’s valuation of the player, a loan deal until the end of the season may be beneficial to all parties. The gossip column are also linking Rovers with, Deportivo La Coruna striker Diego Tristan and Standard Liege left back Philippe Leonard. Rovers supporters should however be cautious regarding the rumours as John Williams is reported to have said. `I think we have signed more players than anyone else in the Premier League during the window and our squad is almost too big now.' That said with the count down towards the transfer window closure, Rovers supporters are speculating on recent transfer gossip. Click here for Fans Views
