Alan75 Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Rovers strolled to an easy win against Colchester this afternoon, after U’s keeper Aidan Davison missed a back pass, that is bound to be a candidate for the next goalkeeping blooper dvd release. Davison only managed an air kick and minimal contact to Kevin Watson's backpass allowing the ball to run freely into the back of the net after 21 minutes of the game. Within 6 minutes Rovers increased their lead when Jemal Johnson scored on his home debut, striking the ball past Davison from 18 yards, after Pederson had laid back Thompsons low cross from the right hand side. Half time Rovers 2 Colchester 0. Within 6 minutes of the restart Dominic Matteo diverted a Robbie Savage's free-kick into the left hand side of the U’s goal to make it 3 – 0 to the Rovers. Rovers : Friedel, Neill, Todd, Mokoena (Nelsen 52), Matteo, Emerton (Reid 71), Savage, Thompson, Tugay, Pedersen (Stead 71), Johnson. Subs Not Used: Enckelman, Gallagher. Yellow cards : Mokoena.
