Flopsy Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 hes going to get kicked all over hte park - better to start with Reid in that position in my opinion. Bring the little norwegian rapscallion on in the last 30minutes

American Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 But he had also denied him permission to go out on loan to another club. Probably was afraid that it would have given him more appearances to hit that 8 appearance bonus, though.
Befectan Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Don't know if anyone has seen this, but there's an interview with Pedersen in the Times Online. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,20...91551_1,00.html
philipl Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 That is a great article! Have the Rovers ever had a player who came from a more "ends of the earth" home town? Rover6 can change his signature to this MGP quotation: "In hindsight, Pedersen believes it was good for him to get a rest. He had been playing almost constantly for two years. The Norwegian season runs from February until the end of October, and he played for Tromso through the 2003 campaign, spent two months with the national side, gone straight back to pre-season, then played throughout the 2004 season before moving to England last August." One up to me because I pointed that out MGP hadn't had a break from competitive football for a very long time
waggy Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 along with todd mgp is in the running for the most improved rover,he gets better every game but what about the penalty incident
herbergeehh Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 That wasn't an incident, he had a player pressuring him and lost balance a bit, and fell down a bit easily. But as mentioned earlier, he used his position to tackle the Burnley player, not much of a plea for penalty if you ask me.
roversWASmylife Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 MGP did a lot better than I expected yesterday. I thought he would get knocked off the ball. On most occasions Pedersen looked like our best player, when he had the ball he always looked like he was capable of creating something. Good free kick matched by a good save, a decent header only to be blocked by Roche's arm. As for the incident where he was booked for simulation, I think we were all appealing, I've just seen it and it would have been harsh to give on Burnley but it didn't warrant MGP getting booked. He is improving every game, a sign of a good young player for us.
rover6 Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 (edited) Don't know if anyone has seen this, but there's an interview with Pedersen in the Times Online. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,20...91551_1,00.html Interesting article, MGP comes across as a really cheerful character - although how long that will last with every additional interview he is asked to perform, I don't know. I see the Times have made two common but cardinal sins. In the list of Norwegian Rovers they have Martin Andersen and Per Pedersen. Per was Danish and Martin Andersen never played for Rovers. Tut tut. Edit: Just having a look around and spookily have found out that it was on exactly this day, 21st Feb, eight years ago, Per Pedersen was announced a Rovers signing. Check this. Befectan Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Didn't M. Andresen play for Blackburn on a loan last year???
berg Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 For the record: Mortens father Ernst never played for Viking/Stavanger. He played for two other Norw. PL-teams: Bodø/Glimt and Vålerengen.
streakyb Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Didn't M. Andresen play for Blackburn on a loan last year??? He did , I also thought he was supposed to be the orginal Norwegian David Beckham
Shevchenko Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Didn't M. Andresen play for Blackburn on a loan last year??? Read rover6's post again, carefully this time. Andresen played for us on loan, but we've never had a player by the name of Andersen. It was an attempt at humour.

Flopsy Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 but we like winding you Scandanavians up I dont care who scores as long as we score more than them
coffeeman Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 but we like winding you Scandanavians up I dont care who scores as long as we score more than them Same for me Flopsy, I don't care who scores. Mceverly, Fridal, Gallacher, Nelson, Johansen, Janson, or even Mokena. As long as they're not Dingles )
philipl Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 Come on, we like the sort of goals the dingles scored last time they were at Ewood. (disallowed and o.g.)
