USABlue Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Did anyone see the comments about Tony Grant in the LET. "Came out on top in his personal duel with Savage? Was I watching another game, I barely recall Grant. How did I miss this.
AndyR Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Anyone remember the prick who ran onto Ewood against Celtic? I asked at the time if it was the same idiot - he had the same flag raised above the head pose and gormless expression. Have to say the naked breakdancer was pretty much the highlight of the day., but the 5 months wasn't harsh enough - I'll bet if you assaulted 2 policemen like that in the street you would be looking at a lot more than 5 months.
Cheeky Sidders Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Did anyone see the comments about Tony Grant in the LET. "Came out on top in his personal duel with Savage? Was I watching another game, I barely recall Grant. How did I miss this. I saw the same thing in the LET and mentioned it to our resident Dingle at work. He genuinely believes (as do most Dindles) that Grant kept Savage quiet on Sunday! Apart from his tackle from behind on Savage (for which he ought to have been booked but wasn't) I don't recall his name being mentioned at all.
blue phil Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 I Got Tugay's autograph!!! You mean I got it for you , Frosty boy ...
DanLad Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Interesting to see that the Dingle backed off then did a runner when Steven Reid gave him the come on. Well done Reidy for standing up to the claret ASBO. It's a different Reid and it is slightly off topic, but my memory is right that a chap in the Blackburn End used to scream maniacally 'Bring on the animal...Animal Reid' when Nicky Reid used to run out?

Thanks sidders, that's about all I remember of Grant too. I thought for a bit I was losing it.
Backroom trueblue Posted February 22, 2005 Backroom Posted February 22, 2005 I'll bet if you assaulted 2 policemen like that in the street you would be looking at a lot more than 5 months. It depends on how many times he 'fell' down the steps to the cells at Bumley nick
Hasta Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Taken lots of pics that I will upload later. Any closer to uploading the photo's Paul? As one of the people that couldn't make it I'd love to see what the mass of blue and white in the cricket field stand looked like.
longsiders1882 Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 What double standards you employ on here. We have just had a complaint on our board about an alleged post (I only say alleged because I haven't seen it though I don't doubt its veracity) which said this 'jus lettin you know the criminal damage that you inbreads caused did not go unnoticed in the away stand on suday expect the same. I ll av my spanner on me! an eye for an eye and all that!' Below is my reply to Rover Blue, using a few comments from this very thread 'perhaps Rover Blue you should be more concerned with your own support -and I quote from BRFCS.co.uk 'A few other points... The pillock in front of me chucking coins - if I ever see you do that again Ill give you a kicking, perhaps my bollocking wasnt enough? What on earth happened to the gents toilets? I thought the operation at Ewood was first class. The Blackburn End was open, andBlues selling hot stuff. The coaches all organised and the police escort very good. And even after the game at Burnley things well smoothly, not seen anything like that for ages. All penned in.' 'Why do some idiots have to spoil things by smashing seats up after the game? Saw one kid who thought he was being cool by taking part of a seat home.' 'Was the burnley fc bar sign eventually removed ? Yes it was. It were my Rovers towel that draped over it at first, then the price list got removed then the Burnley FC Bar sign.' What goes around comes around, an eye for an eye etc etc. It would seem that your attempts to paint yourselves whiter than white are not succeeding - pray tell why it is OK to smash up seats, toilets and signs and throw coins but it is not OK to breakdance naked on the pitch - can you honestly say the behavoir detailed above is any better than that of the guy who got on the pitch?' It also seems that other people have noticed the delightful tones of one of your posters from over the pond, amongst others 'I too dont see the problem with what was said. Just browsing that site, and it appears quite tame compared with some of the hateful vitriol spewed by the likes of Gav, Abbey and USABlue.....' Still, in case anybody is getting confused, don;t forget we are the neanderthal, stupid, inbred ignorants TTFN
Flopsy Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 not arguing with you longsider - any vandalism / or violence aimed at anyone is unacceptable . And I totally agree with your last point
stuwilky Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Like I said longsiders... Read the bits you quoted from me and dont lump us all together. We agree on this point at least.
longsiders1882 Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 (edited) Like I said longsiders... Read the bits you quoted from me and dont lump us all together. We agree on this point at least. ah but isn't this the point. Some on here, in fact most on here try to do exactly that - why do you deserve to be any different. For what its worth there have been a few on here who have been decent, have kept the banter friendly(ish) - hell I even got a couple of PM's. So are all Blackburn fans Vandals and thugs? No more or less than all Burnley fans. Another example, the talk of the few burberry clad boys waiting after the game was over. Well we could talk about the Rovers fans who were in the bottom corner of the stand during the game as well. Were you the guy in the white shirt (with your boyfriend dressed in black) stood behind the yellow gate that opens onto the pitch. You and the guys with you and next to you were gesturing throughout the match. So either we have some fans who are idiots at Burnley and so do you OR we can tar each other with the same brush and say all BLackburn fans are scum. Oh and Grant had Savage in his pocket for the entire second half - when the Welsh whinger wasn;t, well whinging to the ref Edited February 22, 2005 by longsiders1882
Eddie Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Savage had Grant in his back pocket for the entire match Fair stuff their longsiders. No doubting we both have our fair share of idiot supporters, just like every club. I just think that recent history points to a rather more extreme section of Burnley supporters willing to do that little bit more than even the daftest of Rovers. Now it is a small minority, and I'm not even saying it's still there, but as of yet we haven't trashed our own town or torn a roof off. I think that's why you'll get the stick you do about your supporters. Whether it is deserved or not I think we have to wait a week and see. I don't think anyone could have any complaints with how you've handled yourself on the messageboard though. Your opinions are somewhat, well, misinformed at times, but still, thats not your fault.
Gav Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Smashing up a few chairs is childs play but i remember a policeman being dragged in to a pub in Accy last time we played and smashed in the face with a glass? When was the last time Ewood had to be cleared with riot police? Never... When did Blackburn fans last smash up the town....Never I can also find many reports of disturbances involving burnley fans over the past 5years? The problem has been eradicated in Blackburn due to banning orders and even before the police took action you'll struggle to find anything other than minor handbags to have a go at us about. The simple facts of the matter are, burnley is caught in a time warp with regards to hooliganism, people still participate in large numbers and thats a burnley problem and a fashion thats going to continue i'm afraid. Blackburn had a minor problem but that has now been addressed and you'll have no problems at ewood next week and for the foreseeable future. So give up the ghost for Gods sake.

roversWASmylife Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 I'd say most of the supporters from both Rovers and Burnley are genuine football supporters. There is a minority of 'fans' who do intend to cause trouble from both clubs. Yes there were idiots from Rovers at Turf Moor, but it doesn't take a genius to work out that they were going to be stupid. I expect the same from some Burnley fans at Ewood. What the difference is, the game at Turf Moor was an early kick off. At Ewood it's in the evening, plenty of time for both sets of supporters to drink in town before the game, I am with some friends from Burnley. I have no time for 'fan's who have the idea of going to the football to throw coins, bottles rip out seats or fans running on the pitch. All should be punished the same.
Gav Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Longsider, you're making a fool of yourself and after some decent posts its a shame. I have no idea what you're trying to achieve but please lay it on the line because i'm sure we can avoid some drawn out bull and put this to bed asap Tell us whats on yer mind....
Hasta Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 If I didn't know better I'd say he fully expects the Darwen End to be left in 'a bit of a state' after next weeks game and he's trying to get his justification in now. "yes we may have ripped up most seats and completely gutted the DE concourse but you scum threw a coin at our winger!"

I have no idea what you're trying to achieve but please lay it on the line because i'm sure we can avoid some drawn out bull and put this to bed asap Tell us whats on yer mind.... really gav? In that case its lucky for me your opinion of me doesn't reallyconcern me Nothing on my mind but its a bit rich when we have rovers on our board complaining about a few posts that are reception class compared to comments from you, USABlue, ossie, ABBEY need I go on. Consequently I view it as my duty to defend the vast majority of decent Clarets from the nonesense you and your cohorts post by pointing out the dual standards you are employing. Anyway, as you say we aint got all night so I guess we wait now until Wednesday week
Gav Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 And that's your right but please don't milk the situation because not only will it bore everyone to death but we'll blow your argument out of the water with facts not fiction
ABBEY Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 anyway longshiter....must be good to come from a town where the kids are baby sat by police on top the hills to stop them throwing bricks at our coaches......not bad parenting by the mums, mind you one dad between you! reception class ?aye im sorry i got it wrong it twas us @#/?s that had to be moved on out the ground by the riot squad. it was us that threw slates off the stand it was us that tried burning the darwen end down....well according to cabumshit that is. it was us that killed a forest fan yorkshire born yorkshire bred thick in yarm and thick in yed.
tcj_jones Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 For gods sake Abbey, can you not be more articulate and enjoy a friendly banter instead sounding like such a neandathol? You're just giving these guys that visit the site, Birmingham, Burnley supporters and others, ammunition. It's not just Burnley fans, you're utterly intolerant of any fans on the board that support other clubs.
