Nayef Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Let's not get carried away with talk of semi-finals. Do you think Chalrton wanted to get beat at home. And we haven't beaten the dingles yet....

Yorkshire Blue Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 The BEST draw we could have possibly hoped for!! Arsenal v Man Utd would have been nice. With luck, that will be a semi final, with Rovers v Newcastle/Spurs the other. Or am I getting ahead of myself?
bazza Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Leicester at home is the best draw of all and a tremendous incentive to both Burnley and ourselves to reach the semi-final. Come on you blues
SAS Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 well its all set up for us, the team just needs to do the business.
cn174 Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Excellent draw!!! Should act as an added incentive to beat Burnley
streakyb Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 If we need an incentive like Lesicester at home to spur us to beating Burnley then we are doomed. Beating burnley and resching the next round should be enough incentive. If it isnt then none of the players deserve to wear the blue and white.
Duff's Minder Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Fantastic news!! Semi-final against Souness here we come...
philipl Posted February 21, 2005 Author Posted February 21, 2005 This is the best 6th round draw the Rovers have had in my life time. Now let's not go and muck it up! (looking good for Bolton, ManU and Newcastle to make the semis)
Ossydave Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Probably the easiest draw we could have asked for but it's all set up for a typical Rovers cock up! After all we SHOULD be capable of beating Burnley away too.
mattjansen Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 (edited) If we are to beat Burnley and then Leicester to reach the semis its got to be one of the easiest ride, on paper that is, to reach the semi in many years by a premiership team. Edited February 21, 2005 by mattjansen
broadsword Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Hughes should shoot himself if we don't make the semis! Cardiff>Colchester>Der Scum>Leicester. Frighteningly easy path so far.
streakyb Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 (edited) Yes, and look how easy we glided past them. Cardiff - replay, Colchester, not much opposition after their keeper screwed up, may have been different otheriwse. Burnley - Replay, yet to go through. Good job we have had an easy draw, any premiership side looking at that would think we were easy pickings. I think some may just be getting a bit carried away. Lets just concentrate on getting a few more points in the premiership and get to safety. Edited February 21, 2005 by streakyb
Blackpool_Rover Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Bit like millwall last season, weve had an easy route and thats the way to do it. Only the players can mess it up now, we should be burnley and lecister, end of story, if we dont its their fault. Im thinking if we beat them two teams we at least have a day out in cardiff to look forward to. Then another win and we are basically in Europe next season, providing united or arsenal reach the final, but even if they dont we still have a chance by actually winning the cup. Rovers vs Newcastle final, we beat Souey, how sweet would that be.
speeeeeeedie Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 I'm confident after seeing the draw. We'll beat Burnley, no problems. A home game against a team who we should beat followed by another one. It will be a real let down if Burnley beat us. The last time we beat them we were flying high in the first division, now we are languishing in the Prem, but we are still there and should have every conmfidence in beating them. They won't score in a million years, it will only take us 1000.
broadsword Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Nice one speeedie, now you've given me a horrible premonition that we'll get done by Burnley on pens! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgh!
yellowsubmarine Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 We will never get an easier route to the semis than this season! So lets make it count!!
CAPT KAYOS Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Would appear they are happy with the draw in Leicester and confident as well whoever they play We need to get past Burnley yet- so as Abbey says until the replay is over no point going on about the next game. Remember Brentford/Ipswich at home anyone?
youandwhosearmy Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 if we got to the final and played newcastle i would have to cancel my yearly football trip with my local team, because of the amount of stick i would recieve i was newcastle out asap
nellybc Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Remember Brentford ? oh no was his name gary blisset can't for the life of me remember but a 2-0 home defeat springs to mind
CAPT KAYOS Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Remember Brentford ? oh no was his name gary blisset can't for the life of me remember but a 2-0 home defeat springs to mind Ayee - correcto mundo although can't quite remember if it was Blissett
Alan75 Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Heck for personal reasons, Im not pleased with this draw. Whilst Wilcox is out injured Leicester will have another two players wanting some revenge. Gillespie and Nathan Blake.
USABlue Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 We ve got Leicester at Ewood WE HAVE GOT BURNLEY AT HOME.......DONT LOOK ANY FURTHER YET!!! Best advice there is. We are not yet IN the next round. Simply in the hat for the draw. the down side is this will help inspire the clarrots only a home tie against a team they consider beatable and the chance to pencil in their names for the next round.
youandwhosearmy Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 im extremely suprised we didnt get newcastle seems that usually theres a big game in the draw, but i wouldnt really say that is the case with this draw when you consider the teams that were in it. 90% of the time i think draws are fixed, you know the old heating up certain balls trick like this years champions league where alex ferguson said they hadnt played milan in a while and morieno said he fancied playing barca lo and behold then again they may be keeping the big guns seperate to stop any milwall style fiasco
