Gareth Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy The opposing side would 'lay cable' standing in the tunnel! How about Windowlicker? If only cos they could show the video on the screen
laughatthedingles Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Robbie Williams let me entertain you?? Republica - Ready to go is a good shout too. Has anyone noticed that the premier league theme various in the position its played from club to club some play it when the teams come out then build up to something good, some play it when their shaking hands, either way it really is rubbish and helps to lose any atmosphere that was there beforehand.
roversWASmylife Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Lust for Life by Iggy Pop!!! Man United come out to that at Old Trafford every game. As for The Liquidator, Wolves came out to that. But in the end they stopped playing it because at times the Wolves fans told W.B.A to go away, during the song.
Billy Castell Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I think the teams should walk out to the top gun theme tune. It's brilliant, just brilliant. Will we sign a new star striker, and he becomes the cocky jerk struggling with his repressed homosexuality ?. Or will we have to kill a cast member of ER ?. Some of these choices are not to my taste (e.g. Robbie, the Quo and Republica), so here are some of mine: 1. Ricochet-Faith No More 2. Golden retreiver-SFA 3. Stockholm Syndrome-Muse 4. Orgasmatron-Sepultura 5. Any from Eighties Matchbox.......'s first album Come to Daddy would be a great choice though.
joey_big_nose Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 How about the rocky theme tune? Not Eye of the tiger, the other one. The orchestral one with the uppy downy bits. It would be genius, when they come out to warm up they could run around after chickens and beat giant cow carcasses into a pulp. We might need to trade in Hughes for a small irish-american man the wrong side of eighty t be the manager, but hell, it would be awesome. Seriously, Rocky is the way forward.
Laurence Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Always thought Jimmy Cliff - 'You can get it if you really want' would be a good one, but I guess a return to Final Countdown would be ok.
ihateburnley Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Mods - Any chance we can have a proper vote on this one? Perhaps have a list of the top10/20 choices and we all vote on our favourite? We could then send off a complaint to the club from BRFCS stating our preferred choice? Surely they'd listen? We could also add a sly request for them to turn the music down, because to be honest, the noise level is on the borderline of deafening.

blue/white Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 (edited) Always thought Jimmy Cliff - 'You can get it if you really want' would be a good one, but I guess a return to Final Countdown would be ok. Better yet -- 'the harder they fall ' when he have to take on the big boys you know... like Brum. Edited March 11, 2005 by blue/white
Ben-2000 Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 (edited) just to go off topic a little.... Whoever the guy is who talks on the screen before the game (reading ticket info out etc) needs to get a better mic, I don't know what it's like in the BBN / Darwen or JW Stands but in the Riverside all you can hear is a long droan... you can't make out what he's saying at-all! Does anyone think the same? and NO i'm not going deaf by-the-way Edited March 11, 2005 by Ben-2000

cletus Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Howzabout something rabble-rousing & orchestral, like...... March of the Dambusters or Jerusalem ??
Radagast Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 It's gotta be the final countdown! Dispatched's cover version.
bob fleming Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 4. Orgasmatron-Sepultura How dare you! How dare you! I think you'll find that's just a cover version and the mighty Motorhead's version is far superior. It drives me mad when bands get undeserved credit for covering other peoples songs. How's about Rovers coming out to the Grammy award winning "Whiplash" by Motorhead then? or "Overkill". Or "Ceremony" by New Order. I was actually quite happy with "All These Things That I've Done" by the Killers that they started playing recently.
north-rover Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 (edited) As I live in Sunderland I quite often go to the Stadium of Light and I have to say they have one of the most astonishing entrances I've seen. Starts with Prokofievs 'Dance of the knights' from Romeo and Juliet, lasts for quite a long time and you know it's time to find your seat. All of a sudden when the teams are marching in, Republica's 'Ready to go' kicks off and lifts the roof of the stadium. I've been to a couple of Newcastle matches and they can nowhere compete with the mackems when it come to the entrance theme. My point is, I think it is a good way to do it the way Sunderland do it, with first having a classical and mellow piece building up the atmosphere and then kicking it all off with something noisy and rocky. laughatthedingles Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Two Tribes? Rocky is good aswell! In general something to get us going!!
north-rover Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Two Tribes? Rocky is good aswell! In general something to get us going!! Was this directed to me? Well, I'm diveded between two tribes, but not Sunderland. My Norwegian hometown team Molde and Rovers are my two teams. Since I am a student I can neither afford nor have the time to go to Ewood every other saturday. Just enjoying watching football for £13!!!! at the SOFL from time to time. BTW you should appreciate the freedom you have to choose your own entrance theme here in England. In Norway all the Prem. Teams are obliged to have the same offical theme. But we introduce the players when they are lined up on the pitch tough, raising their hands and so on...
cn_barlow Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 surely 'Bully boy' by shed seven would be the most suitable?!
