jim mk2 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I have a mate from Tredegar who hates any success in Welsh football whatsoever because in his opinion it detracts emphasis away from their national sport. There are many like him in that neck of the woods too. I encountered that attitude in Swansea during their success under Toshack in the 1980s.

bblue Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 In the light of the Fiji result, which "national sport" is that then? Making sheep feel extremely nervous? Ha! Brilliant. And true....not like you can say the Welsh are doing better at football or rugby lately...
tonygreenbank Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 It seems you cant keep Mr.Savage out of the news. In todays Times there is an article about an incident on Rovers flight back from the match in Finland against Mypa when Savage who has a fear (apparently) of flying was invited up to the flight deck by the captain in order to calm his nerves. For this act of kindness the said captain has been sacked by his company for abusing security on board. Robbie has vowed to do "all in his power" to get the pilot reinstated.
