Hmmm.............. I'm really no more of a fan of Benitez's Liverpool than Houllier's but I suppose you have to give them credit for coming back from 3 down.

3-0 down at half time. then to pull back to 3-3, AND THEN win on penalties. Spawney gits biggrin.gif Fair play.

Dudek deserves all the plaudits - not only for the penalty save but that double save against Shevchenko just before the end of extra time

Certainly for the pens (although most should have been retaken because of how far he came off the line) and the first part of the double save. However, I don't think he knew a thing about the second part.

As if it wasn't bad enough seeing the sudden surge of Chelsea shirts around the town in the last few weeks.....you'll not be able to move for red ones in the next few weeks...further eroding away our already brittle support. mad.gif

Bloody excellent save it was from Shevchenko.

Not quite sure how Liverpool managed to pull that off. We're dead and buried at half time and to get the three goals back in quick sucession was so important.

Well done to the reds ~~~~~~~

If Benittez pulls the team together to outsmart AC, this could be one of the most remarkable achievements ever by a manager of a British club.

And yet again another boing final - as with most Cup finals - nowadays teams don't seem to go out to try and win, more containing the opposition with the object of snatching a goal.

Personally I have lost interest in most of European games due to the structure of the competitions.

Problem is, its also an element that is creeping into the domestic game which is stagnating the game as we know it.

Lets just hope it turns out to be opposite to what I have said above and is a 'showpiece' final as it should be.

How was that for you? wink.gif

Amazing night, domestic football will never serve up something like that...like it or not, the Champions League has proven itself as the best competition in Europe.

Well done Liverpool. thumbs-up.gif

Unbelievable. Incredible. Fantastic!

Can't understand why any English football fan wouldn't want an English team to win. I even wanted ManUre to win a few years back.

Do you think Crespo has played his way back into the Chelsea first team squad after tonight's performance?

No sleep tonight- the Liverpool supporters are carcading round Malta and the fireworks are going off! It is going completely crazy out there at the moment.

The Britannia Bar in Gzira was oddly quiet- the regulars had gone to Istanbul. Besides the scheduled flights, Air Malta laid on four charter flights- the unknowing Turks assumed they were all Milan supporters so four plane loads of boozed up Maltese Liverpool supporters landed at the airport reserved for the AC Milan supporters all with tickets for the AC section!

I'm not surprised in the slightest that the Scousers nicked it.

After all, it's the one thing they excel at.
