SouthAussieRover Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Jones b Warne 444 all out. I bet David Shepherd is stood on one leg somewhere!
SouthAussieRover Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Good catch by Bell of Giles bowling to dismiss Langer. 1-58
brfcshabba Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 (edited) 82-3 Gilo strikes again But was he playing a shot? Standing still in front on the stumps doesn't represent a shot in my view Edit: Changed my mind Not Out Edited August 12, 2005 by Cookiemonster
Flopsy Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Yeah, currently being worked over good and hard by the physio - Im guessing they'll bring him in at 9 or 10
Exiled_Rover Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Gilchrist at crease - Oh dear 338472 In what sense is that oh dear? It's obviously great for England as we've torn the heart out of their batting order. It's also not too bad for Australia as he's good enough to bring them back into it, especially if Martyn stays in at t'other end like he's prone to do. Great match again
brfcshabba Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 (edited) Read through the thread. Everytime I have said oh dear he has been out cheaply. - Told Ya Gone!! Martyn! Edited August 12, 2005 by Cookiemonster
jobo380 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 i cant believe how these tests keep changing, one minute we are winning then the aussies........ but what another great day today, knocking over their batting order very easily.
Flopsy Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 What ever happens (unless the weather forecast for Sunday and Monday are dreadful) we must not enforce the follow on. If the King of Spain can get that much spin? Warne will be bowling 180 degrees
Ste B Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Is Clarke still laid down at the team hotel? 338462 He is now
blue phil Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 You're joking , Flops . It would be madness not to enforce the follow on . Anything can happen with the weather in Manchester . Keep 'em in and hope for another collapse . And hope that Clarke doesn't recover too quick . Mind you I've got tickets for Sunday - I want to see some action ....
Flopsy Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I hope the weather stays clear for you Phil, but I would rather bat and get another 150-250 and then give our bowlers something to play with. Austrailia cant bat as bad as they have again surely????
Rovers_4_life Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 It's a tough call i think we should enforce the follow on because you can't predict the weather in Manchester but then that also means Warne will get to bowl last and inevitably get the most turn. I thought Gilo was superb again today, as was Simon Jones.
Flopsy Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Guardian I havent found a better site for articles on the Ashes than here (although Im sure Phil and Theno have it blocked on the parental filters )

MCMC1875 Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Mods I know this is a football site, but in view of the phenomenal interest in this Ashes series, can we have this thread pinned until the end of the 5th test?
MCMC1875 Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 (edited) Last nights heavy rain in Lancs has passed. Light drizzle declining now. SE England will see the wet weather this afternoon. Saturday afternoon set to be fine in Lancs and the forecast for next week - crackin' 'flags! Edited August 13, 2005 by MCMC1875
