Ozz Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 England need to bat till Tea and thats it for me. Off to Oddbins for some POMagne!
Flopsy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Ive got to go and have a tooth pulled at 5:15pm - so I cant go to the pub at lunch and have an afternoon of stella fueled nervousness and tehn celebration (hopefully)
philipl Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) Getting exciting as the time for start approaches. If England don't win the ashes today, it will be the biggest set-back to English sport since... ...last Wednesday. Edited September 12, 2005 by philipl
den Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Full days play - probably stopping about 6ish due to bad light, although there should be an extra half hour for the weather delays and an extra half hour if the bowling captain believes that he can bowl the batting team out and win the game So I think its a 7 o'clock finish if Austrailia are batting and need another 60 runs to win and have 2 wickets left So 6.30 finish at the latest then 346288[/snapback] To be exact, 98 overs to be bowled in the day, or 5 pm.+15 overs.[assuming 83 overs have been bowled by 5 pm.]
bellamy11 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 One last attempt at psychological warfare from the Aussies "Ooooh it's over, congratulations on the Ashes". You know as well as we do that both teams have a good chance today. We're a good team (on our own soil) who have outplayed a good team (who have been amazingly out of form) and won (through the use of several very dubious umpire decisions). That the best you can do, Neekoy?
Lee Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 This is the latest a test series has been played in England, I can't see them playing until 6pm to be honest, unless it brightens up considerably this afternoon. Saying that, on that Monday at OT it was very grey in the morning and a scorcher in the afternoon, but that was August and not autumn!
philipl Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Somehow I think if they are in with a chance of retaining the Ashes, the Aussies will stay out there even if it means facing Flintoff with a bat in one hand and a davey lamp in the other.
Lee Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 No commentator appeared to pick this up yesterday, but Freddie clearly said to Rudi Koertzen (sp?) yesterday "Can I get a spotlight on the bailes, I can't see them"
Flopsy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 What an absoultely brilliant catch by Gilchrist (@#/? )
Flopsy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Wow - nice one Bell Golden Duck - McGrath on a Hat Trick
Flopsy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 ooooooooo Pieterson just missed being a hat trick ball for McGrath
bellamy11 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 The Aussies still pretending not to care?
pg Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) Actually I'm still at work Keep up with the updates fellas.... ...but we still won't win it Edited September 12, 2005 by pg
Flopsy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Big LBW appeal by Warne - span right angles but probably hit Tresco outside off stump and would (might) have missed leg
dave birch Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Bellemy, I'll say it. Two more wickets and it will be a very interesting game. Got to admit that England are still way in front, but you never know what will happen with Warne and McGrath.
Flopsy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Pierterson very close to being run out - what a great throw from Clarke
Flopsy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Pierterson dropped by Warne at slip (93 for 3)
philipl Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) These two dropped catches (Gilchrist and Warne) are probably going to cost the Australians very badly. Pietersen is going to take the war to the Aussies now. The target they need to get is going into the possibly tricky category now. Edited September 12, 2005 by philipl
Flopsy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Flintoff Caught and Bowled by Warned for 8 Oh christychristychristchrist time for collingwood to earn his pay
bellamy11 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Australia must now be massive favourites. Flintoff gone for 8.
