Last week the Royal Navy celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and the memory of Admiral Nelson. This week Rovers supporters continued the celebrations with the granting of a works permit for their very own Admiral Nelsen.

The New Zealand defender who in 5 months at the club, has made such a big impact that he is one of the first players pencilled on to Mark Hughes’ team sheet each game, had his appeal for a work permit granted yesterday.

Nelsen who was signed from DC United in January on an 18 months working holiday visa, was offered a 3 year contract at the end of the season. However due to New Zealand’s low FIFA world ranking, Nelsen’s initial application for a work permit was refused.
