blue phil Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 So if we follow ASEF and others ideas that would mean kicking out everyone who wasnt a white anglo saxon protestant, 331015 There's absolutely nothing in any of AESF's posts , in this or any other thread , that remotely suggests any of the nonsense you've written , Flopsy . Maybe it's time you gave up this moderating lark - it's blatently obvious that you're too thick .

Flopsy Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 What ASEF calling for all mass imigration to be halted and preferably everyone removed. I suggest you give up this messageboard lark you're obviously too miopic
Modi Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 (edited) There's absolutely nothing in any of AESF's posts , in this or any other thread , that remotely suggests any of the nonsense you've written , Flopsy . Maybe it's time you gave up this moderating lark - it's blatently obvious that you're too thick . 331192 Can't a mod have an opinion? If Flopsy was to edit/delete posts he disagreed with that would be an abuse of his mod status. Similarly, if he were to close a thread just because he didn't like the content, that would also be an abuse of his mod status. However, just because Flopsy is criticising another posters stand point is not an abuse of his status. It's not his fault he's just not very articulate. Edited July 11, 2005 by Modi
thenodrog Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 and anyway I could/should close this thread........ 331041 Why would you want to do that? Anyway it's not that you cannot moderate on some subjects Flopsy it's just that all too often your judgement is frequently flawed and that you do appear to find impartiality difficult. (Oh and btw 'myopic' is spelt with a 'y').
Scotty Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Anyway it's not that you cannot moderate on some subjects Flopsy it's just that all too often your judgement is frequently flawed and that you do appear to find impartiality difficult. 331224 Why don't you volunteer to become a mod then Theno? Maybe you could do better? Still, it's a lot easier to hide behind the internet and criticise - like you do about everything else.
Flopsy Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 (Oh and btw 'myopic' is spelt with a 'y'). 331224 bugger
Eddie Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 The only reason any of you have any problem with the moderating on this topic is that a moderator happens to disagree with your rather extremist views, like most others I must add, and because of this you can't believe you are possibly being put in your place by someone who you believe should be staying neutral. Moderators should not be prohibited from participating in discussions, and one of this sort means that when you voice your opinion, especially when there is such a wide spectrum on show on the messageboard, you will offend some. I can't believe that some of your opinions are given air-time on any website, radio station or tv channel, I can't believe some of them even run through people's heads, but you are entitled to them and are thus able to post them on this board, my duty is then to respond to them and to try and attempt to point out why they are wrong. Flopsy is simply doing the same, don't change the topic because someone is simply making you think fast about why you have certain views.
American Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I hope Flopsy learned his lesson about censorship a while back...

Why nobody should ever hold anything other than your opinion! Spoken just like an arrogant still-wet-behind-the-ears 18 year old Eddie. Its difficult to believe that you can have the temerity and arrogance to think that you are always right. err......... when I think about it you could even be one of mine! What was yer mums maiden name?

"Get a grip of yourself, take time to engage your brain, and stop spouting @#/?................... ..........As for AESF's re-hashing of the BBC News site - well only him would seek to take advantage of an attack like this to post yet more of his racist drivel. I was always advised that when I was in a hole the best thing was to stop digging! Obviously you've had no such advice. As for me being a Mod? No thanks. Although I am 10 times more impartial, perceptive, rational, logical etc than you Scotty I'm not really moderator material. You keep trying though cos I bet you'd love to make it one day!
Scotty Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Although I am 10 times more impartial, perceptive, rational, logical etc than you Scotty 331288 I give you next years quote of the year Grooby winner!!! Keep on at this rate and you could get to keep the trophy.
philipl Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Three posters have been posting views I profoundly disagree with and whose rantings on a thread about the horrific events in London last week I find odious in the extreme. No doubt they were all for hanging any Irishman they could get their hands on and mass evictions of all Roman Catholics when the IRA was bringing terror to the UK for thirty years. Whilst all this drivel is being pushed here, it seems to be increasingly apparent that a lady from Oswaldtwistle is one of the victims and that she was known to some members of this board. My deepest sympathies go to everyone affected by the horrors unleashed by the perpetrators of the four bombs. Not letting the bombers win means not siding with the views of AESF, blue phil or thenodrog.
Eddie Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Why your opinion is always the right one Eddie? Why nobody should ever hold anything other than your opinion! Spoken just like an arrogant still-wet-behind-the-ears 18 year old Eddie. Its difficult to believe that you can have the temerity and arrogance to think that you are always right. err......... when I think about it you could even be one of mine! What was yer mums maiden name? 331286 I don't think I'm always right, but obviously if I hold a belief for that time at least I do believe it to be the right one. If you can say something that changes my mind then all credit to you, it is possible, but as of yet your mindless rants and insults have yet to ever do it. My actual point was that I thought you had the right to your opinion and because of that had the right to post that opinion, but I also then had the right to post mine. This was actually a direct reaction to the fact that a few of you right wingers had been complaining about the fact that flopsy was posting his opinion, one different to your own. Now it may just be me, but you are coming across as a bit of a hypocrite right now. So regularly the few of you who hold such extreme views ruin debates like this by forgetting the issue itself as you are bombarded by facts and opinions that go against what you believe. What you do to respond to this is to pick on the individual post or detail and take the discussion off topic, you avoid further embarrassment but your ruin the debate itself. It would be nice if for once one of you could avoid slipping down into personal insults simply because someone doesn't agree with you. I don't like what you say, but doesn't mean I then insult you because of it, I just try and prove you wrong and prevent as many people as possible from becoming the sort of illogical bigot that you are.
Roaming Rover Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Eddie, as for Therno and AESF etc runing these threads, this also applies to the likes of Colin and Scotty who then come back with comments not in keeping with this or the particular thread. I'm not saying that Therno, AESF etc don't sometimes go over board, but that is for the Mods to decide not for everyone to get into a slanging match. IF someone thinks that immigration or asylum seekers should be halted after these attacks that is upto them, and i'd guess a lot of people in the country would support these measures, if you don't think this is appropriate, again that is your opinion and you would not be alone in thinking like that. Maybe if people were not so quick to bite.............................
Nayef Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I guess we have to accept that there are people out there (and on this mB it seems) who harbour extreme and deep resentment towards anybody they cannot accept as their own or who they decide will blame for their problems. When their views are challenged, they revert to defensive mode and start hurling insults. (there's one very obvious one just 5 posts up) I was perhaps naive enough to think this mB didn't really have these sort of people (after all the digs we had at the town of Burnley for BNP's relative success there!) but obviously and evidently I was wrong.
Glenn Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Just getting reports that buildings surrounding hyde park in leeds have been evacuated and there has already been a controlled explosions elsewhere in the city. The BBC website *did* briefly have a headline up about the explosion, which linked to the wrong story, but it seems to have gone again now.
Dan Furness Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 House raids in Leeds. I know the lady from Oswaldtwistle, lives just down the road. She was on the bus. As for the person missing I mentioned, no hope at all... not been heard from since Thursday. The office of the company I deal with is directly opposite, the windows are blacked out and only half of the office in operation. Police and escorting people into and out of the building.
Ste B Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Just getting reports that buildings surrounding hyde park in leeds have been evacuated and there has already been a controlled explosions elsewhere in the city. There was in the centre of Bradford yesterday as well.
Dan Furness Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Confirmed reports now regarding controlled explosions Ste, where you see that about Bradford?
Nayef Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Well, here in Birmingham it was pretty manic when my friend and I tried to go out on saturday evening. We had 3 controlled explosions which turned out to be "false alerts". Couldn't sleep sunday night due to the police helicopters buzzing around. Just when you think they've gone for good, like mosquitoes they return hovering.
Dan Furness Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Luton Station shut and all trains stopped, think found something in connection with last Thurs
Biddy Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Probably the car which they think was used by the bombers. The current BBC news page mentions that in one line. Seems strange stopping all trains for that though.
Guest Kamy100 Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I am hearing that the police have made arrests linked to last thursday's events.
greggyk Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Police have identified the body of the suicide bus bomber and its pretty obvious they've gone to his family in Leeds.
Dan Furness Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Yes I heard that when they identified the bombers body they soon set off identifying targets
