Major Incident In London

MCMC, I agree- a flight of imagination on my part. Just read that the explosives they are using degrade dramatically if not stored in the right temperature/humidity. That would seem to be the likeliest explanation.

The fact the intended bombers all ran away and presumably are hiding at sympathisers' will expose more of the network when they are eventually apprehended.

I cant help but wonder why, when there is supposed to be this masterplan in place in major cities in case of terrorist attack, West Yorkshire police were unable to find accomodation for 400 (yes, four hundred) evacuees for a couple of days whilst investigating the house on Hyde Park Rd. Fortunately as it was not term time the Universities helped out with accomodation, but if that had happened at a busier time for the city, where would 400 people (many unable to afford a hotel, or find accomodation with friends) sleep?

(the answer, ironically enough, is probably in local mosques)

Better report those arms caches to the Police. No point telling us.

Not wishing to divert attention away from the Mosques because we know they are all harbouring Terrorists and othe ne'er do wells

But suspects from Thursdays fun and games are here. Photos

If you know them please ring Terrorist Hotline or the Police.

The bloke shot dead yesterday in London was not connected to the bombings Police have now said. Obviously it's sad but to me if you run from the Police then you run the risk of being shot. Don't run and you won't get shot, simple as that really. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

It's got fuk all to do with him being Asian he was followed from a house under surveillance and he was challenged by people shouting armed police and he ran off into a tube station. Now putting 2 + 2 together you may well get 5 but it's hardly surprising in the circumstances is it. Sadly this bloke is another victim of this supposed war but I don't see how else the police deal with this.

Rather than being childish and chucking around insults how do you propose the police handle it?

ARMED POLICE STOP OR I SHOOT STOP OR I SHOOT

ARMED POLICE STOP OR I SHOOT STOP OR I SHOOT

ARMED POLICE STOP OR I SHOOT STOP OR I SHOOT

If no reaction after been shouted 3 times and the officer thinks there is an imediate risk to his or the publics safety he is quite in his right to shoot someone.

A bloke running onto a train after ignoring that stuff in the climate London is in, looking as suspicious as by all accounts he did then im sorry. I d have pulled the trigger.

However 5 shots in the head says to me that it wasnt a police officer, more likely SF

The police simply went about this in the wrong way. They say that they followed him out from his house- then if they knew where he lived, why did they not arrest him there and then instead of putting people at risk, 'just incase he lead them to his bomber mates'.

All this has done is influence more muslims in this country to become suicide bombers

I think he means that he finds your position hard to accept in the current environment in London. If anyone is seen as remotely suspicious, is challenged to stop and responds to this by running away, he is literally taking a chance with his own life.

If the guy concerned was subsequently found to have blown himself up along with 75 others on Oxford Street, what would the country have said about the forces then?

It is a sad fact of life in times like these that some basic rights and liberties that we should all be able to take for granted are temporarily suspended. At the moment, this extends to decent law-abiding members of the Muslim community as well as everybody else.

There is only one law for every citizen in this country - perhaps if we had not systematically tried to appease our liberal consciences by attempting otherwise, we would not have the tension that currently exists?

Please tell me this is a comedy post. I hope so because I haven't laughed as much in ages.

I did hear that in cases where individuals are suspected suicide bombers and firearms are the only option that the police have only recently been instructed to aim for the head only.
