Glenn Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 It looks like Hughes in considering using academy defender Andy Taylor next season as Sparky gave him his second pre-season first team start when Rovers lined up against 1860 Munich yesterday . Rovers didn't look too convincing at first against a strong 1860 team who went into the game unbeaten in their six pre season games so far. The 0 - 0 half time scoreline was mainly attributed to some excellent keeping from Brad Friedal. Rovers came out a lot more positive in the second half, but couldn't keep out a 25 yard shot from Vucicevic on 56 minutes. Things then took a turn for the worse on 70 mins when Matt Derbyshire tackled Brazilian Rodrigo Costa from behind, earning himself a red card. The Brazilian himself was shown red for showing his displeasure at the challenge by puching Derbyshire. 88 minutes saw Paul Gallagher draw level (some German news sources are reporting the goal a Flitcroft's, but Rovers fans at the game have confirmed it was Gallagher). The end of the game saw both Rovers fans and players complaining about some harsh refereeing, although the only other card Rovers recieved was a yellow for Lucas Neill. Hughes was reported as saying it was a fair result and a good challenging game. The teams. 1860:Hofmann (46. Ochs) - Lamotte (46. Cerny), Szukala (60. Komljenovic), Lanzaat (46. Costa), Hoffmann (46. Schäfer) - Vucicevic (60. Reisinger), Baier (82. Shao), Lehmann (60. Meyer), Milchraum (46. Gebhardt) - Krontiris (68. Adler), Agostino (46. Kolomaznik). Blackburn: Friedel (46. Harkins) Reports are slowly coming back from Rovers fans at the game here
