adopted scouser Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 What's the tune they play at Wolves ? Ska type thingy, always seems to generate a party atmosphere.
Uxbridge rover Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 As someone who organisers classical music concerts and runs a summer festival, it helps to know a bit about the subject! Anyway I am delighted the Rovers don't play music after they score a goal at Ewood. I was pretty sure I heard some blast of something execrable before the announcement of the scorer in one of the live televised games last season. 336804 How about getting my band out to malta? I promise it will be the best thing Malta has heard in a long time .
Ozz Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 The Fall's "Kicker Conspiracy," but there's not a hope in hell 336961 For Fall tracks, Rovers should enter to Deadbeat Descendents
andy82 Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 What's the tune they play at Wolves ? Ska type thingy, always seems to generate a party atmosphere. 336964 that would be the liquidator by Harry J and the Allstars.....
adopted scouser Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 that would be the liquidator by Harry J and the Allstars..... 337085 Ta, downloading it now. Top Tune.
philipl Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 There is a thread on the official kiddies' board complaining about "music" being played when Rovers score. Perhaps it wasn't Sky dubbing it on after all. GET RID!
roversmum Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 It hasn't been something we've heard much of last season, philip
American Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 I was listening to the Stones the other day, and remembered reading someone who wrote that sports teams should really come out to the opening of "Gimme Shelter."
roverthemoon Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 How many enjoyed the "Wild Rover" being played before and after the match against Fulham. I found myself and others around me singing along to the music and it created a good atmosphere. More of the same please.
Presty On Tour Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 kaiser chiefs - i predict a riot!! well good song for our bully boys!!!
Claytons Left Boot Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Wild Rover - Absolutely brilliant - should have been done years ago. 10 out of 10 Rovers
cletus Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 I also liked the "wild rover theme tune.....it got me off my seat! Well done Rovers (looks like they`ve been listening to the fans for a change!!)
Lee Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 If we'd have been listening to the fans, we'd have come out to tunes varying from The Ace of Spades to bloody Wigfield! Considering the age range that attend Ewood Park, it isn't the easiest job in the world to please everyone with a piece of music.
Exiled_Rover Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 If we'd have been listening to the fans, we'd have come out to tunes varying from The Ace of Spades to bloody Wigfield! Considering the age range that attend Ewood Park, it isn't the easiest job in the world to please everyone with a piece of music. 340931 That's true, but you could turn the speakers down a little bit, they're deafening. Well you can't hold a decent conversation at half time anyway
roverthemoon Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 It just needs a lively footapping singalong type song that most people know and one that fans can associate with the Rovers. This song does just that. Keep playing it and before long the ground will come alive when it is played.
Lee Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 That's true, but you could turn the speakers down a little bit, they're deafening. Well you can't hold a decent conversation at half time anyway 340937 I complained about it on Saturday. Far too loud, I've still got earache
Cheshireblue Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 "Who are you" by the Who should be played when the oppo comes out. As for our heroes, well whatever it is it has to be a timeless tune that won't sound stupid in a few years time. How about a bit of Frank Sinatra? I have been a Rover, I have walked alone, walked a hundred highways, never found a home... Of the contemporary tunes, Clubfoot would get my vote.
bob fleming Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 I complained about it on Saturday. Far too loud, I've still got earache 340942 You big girl's blouse. Thing about this Wild Rover thing is that we end up singing about that lot down the road. Should our "signature" tune have them even mentioned? After all they've become completely irrelevant again. It's just got to be Whigfield.
CAPT KAYOS Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 It's just got to be Whigfield. 340946 Since when has she been our enemy?? And anyway when have you felt the air 'getting hot' on a Saturday night, other than with Rovers performance that day (or shouldn't I ask) PS - I bet you can do the dance as well
bob fleming Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 PS - I bet you can do the dance as well 340950 Not as well as you in your arm bands I'd imagine. Actually, no, that's an awful thought, scrap that.
Blackpool_Rover Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Definately keep wild rover it sets the atmosphere. Went down really well i thought.
snatchymcsnatch Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 No, I live in Newcastle and I get ripped to shreds for that. Really we should go for something different every week - if we win - keep playing it - if we lose, change it. I'd try tunes like: Sam the Sham - Woolly Bully Tenpole Tudor - SOATM Eye of the Tiger - Cheesy but rousing actually im bored now....
