In fairness to the lad he's not even had a sniff this season. Granted he's a DM specialist, but he's exceptional in the role. There have been times this season where I've been begging Hughes to shut up shop and put the Axe in front of the back four. He's failed to do it and I can understand his frustration.

I would sell Jay for 500k or better if Ipswich would stump up the cash.i just don't believe the lad is ever going to come good for us(yes,i know he has been injured and I haven't seen him play since Souness was in charge) as there seem to be better options for us.However, under JW's new policy of having Academy and young players on small wages be squad players perhaps he is just what they have in mind.

Also, looks like Accy clinch going up next weekend to coincide with our victory over arsenal.

Don't think JW is epecting to have a squad on small wages, just the opposite from what I've heard. He realises that you must have quality players to stay in the prem. He's also said that you only ever get one cheap contract for any player.

Do we have a sell-on clause?

I'm pretty sure we do.

You know what, I think that Neil Danns could easily still have been a Rovers player had he had that bit of luck that Jon Douglas and Jay McEveley got with first team players getting injured. During one preseason under Souness he was involved in almost every first team game and didn't look out of place.

We all thought that he was going to be a squad player for that season but Rovers shipped him out on loan to Oldham, i think it was, and things just went downhill from there until he went on loan to Colchester and started performing well for them.

He's caught the eye of a number of teams; i think Sunderland are watching his progress and hopefully he gets a big money move and we get a slice of the fee.

Rovers have said no to loaning Matteo on loan so Sheff U have got Collins (who?) from Sunderland for the rest of the season.

Have to say I expect Sheff U will be next season's Sunderland- Warnock has assembled a very good Championship side and Sunderland have shown what happens to very good Championship sides in the top flight.

Reading have real class, Watford seem to have some good ones, PNE (sorry Abbey) are better than Championship in all aspects except up front, Palace would survive if they win the play-offs whilst Leeds are another good Championship side with nothing to equip them for life in the Prem.

Derbyshire enjoying loan

"The 19-year-old said: "It's a lot more beneficial than playing in Blackburn's reserves because here at Wrexham there are points at stake and jobs on the line.

"That's what you want and I'm really enjoying myself. There's a good set of lads and although I'm here for an initial month, I'd like to stay longer." "

Looks as though Steven Drench will get the chance for Morecambe now since former Rovers keeper Ryan Robinson was sent-off on Saturday.

Drench seemingly put in a good performance when he was drafted into the game mid-way through the first-half. Hopefully he can do himself justice and take this chance.

On loan until the end of the season.

I checked out Gallagher's progress on the Oatcake. Currently rated as the most skillful player at the club but doesn't much like a tackle or running around a lot. He got a '7' for the game.

Apparently his goal was quality.

ps. He has scored 9 in 26 appearences- a goal every third game. Not bad in a strugling side!
