philipl Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 No transfer spending for Bruce. The list of all his purchases makes interesting reading.

modes98 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Well in what must be the all important game for either pompey or brum to stay up, Brum have got a 2 goal advantage! Chelsick and Tag boy with the goals! Very dissapointing, hoping for 2-2!
modes98 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 5-0 in the end, Dunn scored the 5th 376647 subject to further better signings, i think that just about nails the coffin for portsmouth! They should have been about even and they pulled them to pieces. Brum hopefully get thrashed by arsenal and pool to send em into a misery spiral but things are looking up for Bruce. Not that he deserves it!
RevidgeBlue Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Brum seem as though they may have turned the corner. (As they should with their squad.) 'arry continues to flatter to deceive as a manager. Boro have got relegation written all over them. (Which will be good if it keeps McClaren away from the England job)
EIEIEIO Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Martin Taylor has picked up an injury that could keep him out for some time. 375581 5-0 in the end 376647 Funny that.
thenodrog Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Brum seem as though they may have turned the corner. (As they should with their squad.) 'arry continues to flatter to deceive as a manager. 376670 I often wonder how much of Pompeys former success was down to arry and how much to (the excellent) Jim Smith. We might just find out in the next few months.
philipl Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 This must be all Steve Bruce's Christmases come at once today. Sunderland are winning at the Baggies. (Stead hasn't scored)
AussieinUk Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I think its quite interesting, that both Dunn and Forrsell (both you have alot of team-hopes pinned on) scored in the 90th minute. Your right Philip, Bruce must be thinking, his season has finally turned. Have to admit, they do have some players you would take to Rovers.
modes98 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Your right Philip, Bruce must be thinking, his season has finally turned. 376689 I remember thinking that about us when gally scored his first goal for us against brum. But after that nothing much happened and we just got out towards the end of the season. I hope this isn't to big a pick me up for brum, but they know they have it in them now. Need a few more injuries i think
James No. 7 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 "Steve Bruce, meanwhile, is 12-1 [for the England job]. No, seriously. It's amazing what beating Pompey can do for you. I'd rather the FA signed a deal with ITV to produce Manager Idol." http://www.football365.com/opinion/f365_op...ry_175084.shtml :D:D:D
herbergeehh Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 It Can Be Dunn Interesting little article, seems like Dunn is pleased with his teammates - certainly more pleased than he was when we were relegated. Still think he wants a relegation though, and a relegation release clause transfer to Blackburn next season.
RovertheHill Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Didn't want to start a new thread so this seemed the best place. Just heard about Karren Brady, and whilst I don't agree with the way Birmingham conduct their business, I'd just like to wish her all the best and good luck next week. Get well soon.
modes98 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 (edited) Well she can have one less thing to worry about when reading knock them out today. edit: Alex Bruce makes his first start for them today. With major defensive problems Edited January 28, 2006 by modes98
thenodrog Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 imo Brum will climb away from danger no prob. Signing Sutton and the return of Dunn, Forsell and Izzet etc will see to that. In fact they now have a very strong bench which is more imp than many realise.
philipl Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 All very well in theory drog but if you accept that Sunderland are doomed and West Brom will get caught, you can say exactly the same about Boro, Pompey and Brum. One of them is going to go and Brum have two nightmare fixtures coming right up. If clubs like Newcastle, Villa or Fulham are to go down, 18th place will have over 40 points this season.
Manchester Blue Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Boro 3-0 up now so certainly puts the pressure back on the 'big' club away at Anfield tomorrow. It's gonna be a close one this year and i'm just delighted we shouldn't be involved.
modes98 Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Well they have a new striker to help them in there bid to stay up.... DJ Campbell Better stick with Heskey
philipl Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 BIG CLUB are at it again- just missing a signing! At least they are finding their level in failing to sign QPR's Shittu.
modes98 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) First DJ Campbell then Shittu. Maybe there rich board are getting tired of throwing money at the situation. They should sack bruce and employ souness Edited February 2, 2006 by modes98
greggyk Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 maybe we should let WBA win on Saturday just to put Brum in the sh(t even more! Well, that will be my excuse is we lose anyway
Bobby G Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I think Sunderland are gone, but the other two spots are wide open, only cause I believe Portsmouth have enough quality players signed to possibly stay up. D'Alessandro is a world class player and he can conjure magic. My dream two to join Sunderland would be Newcastle and Brum. Otherwise Pompey and Brum would do!
modes98 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 maybe we should let WBA win on Saturday just to put Brum in the sh(t even more! 381054 Very annoying situation. Also bolton is there game in hand and i don't really want either team to get a point out of that! However Newcastle might be on the slide and join brum in the race for relegation.
