McClarky Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 CH is coming in for some serious stick on BBC Radio Lancs right now after 5 wins in 25. 358516 MC, met some B'pool fans on the train home a few weks ago and they were more slagging off the club than CH as apparantly he's been f***ed around. They were happy to join in with "OOh Colin hendry .....etc"
Billinge End Blue Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Big Col is under increasing pressure at Bloomers from the fans...the Oystons deserve the blame but if results and performances continue as at present, they may swing the axe ( don't think CH would walk from his first managerial appointment, unless BFC were in a healthier league position?). McC - will pm you re City
USABlue Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 And to think many many people on here were touting him as a managerial candidate for us.
Scotty Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 (edited) It would appear that Hendry's been sacked now. Simon Grayson has taken temporary charge. UPDATE: This is strange. It now seems that Hendry hasn't been sacked yet, but Grayson has been put in charge of the first team. Hendry will find out his fate next week. Grayson takes over Edited November 10, 2005 by Scotty
RevidgeBlue Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Sounds like he and Windy just want to sort out their severance packages?
Blackpool_Rover Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I spoke 2 the Blackpool FC reporter at work this morning and he assured me Hendry would be gone by 2pm. It seems the club want him out but Hendry is stalling them until after the televised game on sunday. The reporter Steve Canavan (blackpool gazette) also said that the club asked CH to quit a month ago in a personal letter...but he wouldnt.
Timmy Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 well on North West Tonight it was reported that Hendry has left (but has not been sacked or resigned-how does that work?). One time blackburn player Simon Grayson has taken over 1st team duties.
herbergeehh Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Go get him Hughesy, I'm sure we can find room for him in our coaching staff
Alex Rover Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 It might be that if they officially sack him they have to pay compensation. Whereas if they force him out and he leaves on his own accord, they don't need to pay up. I wonder if they are going to try and offer him some post he couldn't feasibly live with after being the manager and will then have to leave.
Simon Says Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Very strange goings on. It seems Oyston asked Hendry to resign a month ago. Hendry refused. Yesterday he was given an ultimatum, resign or be suspended. The latter has now happened. As I say, very strange.
Ozz Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 He`s probably still paying for Mrs Hendrys operations.
blue phil Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Apparently he's suspended (presumably because he refused to resign ) . He's doing the wise thing and awaiting representation before meeting Oyston who no doubt wanted him gone without due compensation ....
stuwilky Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 It might be that if they officially sack him they have to pay compensation. Whereas if they force him out and he leaves on his own accord, they don't need to pay up. 359897 Constructive dismissal. More compensation than just standard dismissal!
FourLaneBlue Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Sam Allardyce, Gary Megson and Nigel Worhington have all been in charge of the Seasiders in the last decade before moving onto better things. It may not have been the greatest of starts but there is still hope yet for Big Col to to make a mark in management.
Friarsnig Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 This evening's LET is reporting that Grayson has asked Tony Parkes to come on board with him as an assistant at Blackpool, but that Tony is unlikely to take up the offer as he's worried about the lack of stability at the club.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 What has Tony got to lose by taking the post?..he probably walked out of Ewood with a testimonial cheque big enough to see him right for the rest of his life.
USABlue Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Go get him Hughesy, I'm sure we can find room for him in our coaching staff 359884 Why?
broadsword Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Exactly USABlue. I'd rather have someone with bona fide coaching credentials at the club (not that I'm a good judge, but whoever Hughes wants is fine by me).
Alan75 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I'll second that Bryan. No disrespect to Big Colin, but being a great players doesnt mean that they will be good managers or coaches. That said, he hasnt had a great deal to work with at Blackpool.
waggy Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 colin will have spent another sleepless night worrying how he will pay his mortgage and feed his family.looking out from his frontroom window at st annes, over the north sea our colin will be in turnmoil.will he spend the next month in st-tropez at his lovely villa,or will he wait by the phone waiting for a call from the job centre. this is colin bloody hendry,a man off great stature-comes from the highlands and is a man off steel, the first few times he played for us we had a hero in the making,he was here when we were nothing and always had ambition, the stalling over the move to citeh,he left in a bad way but returned a hero-i think king kenny did not rate him in the early days,i reckon jack had a lot to do with his return. if there is any footballer who deserves his wedge colin was that man,he will bounce back, until then he can do the half time draw if beamo is still sick
Claytons Left Boot Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 He can do the half time draw if Beamo isn't sick. Does anyone know just what Beamo does other than appearing at half time?
Blackpool_Rover Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Colin Hendry has failed miserably as Blackpool boss...but as mentioned before so did big sam, worthington and megson...its a poisioned chalice...the club is a joke, its a business not an ambitious football club. Thats what you get from having property developers as owners. Sam Allardyce - Was given loads of money (shock for Blackpool) to get them promoted, threw it all away in last 2 months of season and only made the playoffs, won 1st leg away from home 2-0. Then printed directions to Wembley in program for home leg and lost 3-0. Gary Megson - Got attacked by fans who ran to his dugout after a humiliating FA Cup defeat to Hednesford town, ended up finishing mid table before leaving to go to Stockport. Nigel Worthington - Got them relegated. (Technically McMahon relegated them but Worthy made sure they were down by January) Blackpool FC is a circus
