AMD 64 Processors are becoming really cheap at the moment as AMD have moved on to FX-57.

At the moment I am in pretty much at the same point as you. I am bagging myself a new Motherboard, AMD-64 chip, 1GB memory, 200GB Hard drive.

Already got a decent 256MB 6800 chipset and a decent sound card.

well it'll keep me chugging along until I can get a decent 64chip package with the windows 64 (or whatever the new one's called)

I think windows 64bit os is out now if not its in its later stage off beta only bad thing is that not many software/drivers/games support it yet like
