pick32 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 3-0 rovers tickets looked to be selling good when i went down to get mine but in think people walked of when they so that some dipstick has put ticket prices up and called it a catogery A game
Bobby G Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Disappointing that its off. No better time to play the bottom side I would think.
philipl Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Apart from Toogs missing the Wigan game, the disappointment of what would have been a big crowd, and a potential fixture pile up if we keep going well in the Cups... could be worse. Sunderland were certainly going to Ewood to scrap after Boxing Day's fighting performance and this could have been an icy banana skin.
John Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 The Wigan game will be tougher than tonight's match, plus it is away from home. So I think overall it may help us with relation to fitness and freshness for New Years Eve and the Pompey game. Obviously, very annoying for the people who were going to the match though...
greggyk Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 WTF is going on??? At about 5pm there was an article on the site saying the pitch is fine and there would be no pitch inspection! fu(kin joke! We have under-soil heating, did they forget to put it on or something. Bunch of muppets the people who run our club. Expect to lose another 1,000 floating fans now!
Bobby G Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 But then again not playing a 4th game in only a week could help us...
brfcshabba Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 (edited) Who where the three managers who complained about fixture pileup. Sam Allardyce, Mark Hughes and Graeme Souness It's convenient that all three got their game postponed tonight Edited December 28, 2005 by Cookiemonster
greggyk Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 well then, we have no excuse not to beat Wigan then!
philipl Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 (edited) Big Sam has had a big whinge about the postponement tonight. Both Boro and Bolton have UEFA ties to fit in and Bolton were already carrying their postponed Brum game forwards. 13 Div 2, 3 and 4 games are off at the moment. Edited December 28, 2005 by philipl
RovertheHill Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Just got back from my round trip to Ewood Which was nice.
S15 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 What the bloody hell were you planning on doing there at 6.30?
AggyBlue Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 What the bloody hell were you planning on doing there at 6.30? 369498 Do you not have to travel any great distance to the game? Or have to find a spot to park the car Or have kids that like to watch the away team arrive Or have kids that want to look around the shop Or have tickets to buy for upcoming games Or have a couple of pints when I'm in the ground Idiot. Don't assume everyone lives five minutes away and can walk to the ground any day of the week.

S15 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I live over an hour away from the ground, but I thought for anyone remotely local that announcing at about 5-45 that there would be a pitch inspection would be enough notice. Apologies if this wasn't/isn't the case.

Apologies if this wasn't/isn't the case. 369581 I live 8.3 miles from Ewood. It wasnt enough notice. in fact I watched both pitch inspections. Apology accepted.
modes98 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 wow, great fun in teh cold cold north, 3 and 1/2 hours up there! 2 pints followed by the game being called off and 1hr 40 back! Got to love that crazy motorway system! Reckon i won't bother making the trip up next christmas! At least i saw a mate and got a car engine!
colin Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Got up to Ewood. Parked the car & went for a pint. Game off, so I went back to the car to find someone had stolen the engine. What kind of swine would do a thing like that?
Blueboy Downunder Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 i am happy that it was called off. cause i had to be up extrememly early this morning for a train up to melbourne and meant me missing the entire match on radio rovers. there are many factors why people arrive at the games early, which not everybody knows or understands why....but that doesn't make somebody an idiot!! just an opinion.
andyrovers Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Found out that it was called off in the Blues Bar from Sky Sports News, disappointed but these things happen. I do feel for the Sunderland fans and anyone who travelled long distances. I feel that Rovers could have made an anouncement instead of word of mouth. At least we can prepare for Wigan.......
