Rovers game against Sunderland this evening has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Referee Phil Dowd made a pitch inspection at 1800 GMT and immediately deemed the pitch unplayable.

Dowd said: "You just can't run on it - not flat out certainly. It's just not safe for the players to play on."

He also defended the decision not to call the game off any earlier, adding, "the weather's dipped pretty drastically in the last few hours".
