Hughesy Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I can just imagine Big Sam saving Matt - like he did with Davies, however i think that if Souness gets sacked soon then Big Sam will be off there
mattjansen Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 According to The Sun he is off to Hudderfield "Rovers striker Matt Jansen, 28, will be offered a chance to resurrect his career by League One Huddersfield. Jansen has admitted defeat in his quest to impress boss Hughes" The Sun on Jansen
SuperStella Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Jansen wont get near the 1st team so cant blame him - Kuqi, Dickov, Bellamy and even Gallagher ahead of him. Good luck to him for the rest of his career. I wont forget what a good player he was (could still be) and who played a major part in getting us promoted a few years back
JamieUK Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Cant imagine Jansen at Bolton... He'd either be played up front on his own or out on the wing. For me he's not a lone striker and although he used to tend to drift out wide when playing up front he is not a winger/forward.
RoyRover Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Has Matt's contract with Rovers actually ended? Because after watching Kuqi against Pompey, I'd be willing to give him a game. We are playing QPR in the cup on Saturday, it would be worth considering. Jansen and Bellamy up front, a couple of years a go, that partnership, would have been lethal.

AggyBlue Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 No doubt the results of todays meeting between Jansen and the club will be reported in tonights LET and the official club website.
promoted2001 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Jansen's no longer premiership quality, low Championship at best. Good luck to him though
adopted scouser Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 MGP quoted here, let's hope he means it.
Presty On Tour Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 if jansen goes then he will come back to haunt us i know it!! hope he plays against QPR!! we might have a sell out for a send off if it happens !!!!
JamieUK Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I'd rather give Johnson or Derbyshire a chance to shine rather than giving a half interested Jansen a game if he decides he is definately going. Perhaps they could agree to one final chance on Saturday - Play well and stay in the side. I'm sure he would rather stay here and be in the team than anywhere else.
Ray-Von Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I would imagine the chances of Jansen playing any part on Saturday are non-existant as I assume he will be cup-tied if he does.
Modi Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Peter Jackson has confirmed he's interested in Matty. Huddersfield Examiner
USABlue Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Isn't there suposed to be a meeting between Matt and the Club today. When will we know the outcome of that?
Jordan Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Best Striker at Rovers since Shearer. Good Luck MJ.

I'm sure I saw a Matt Derbyshire playing for Plymouth against Leeds t'other night.

mrsjansen Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Isn't there suposed to be a meeting between Matt and the Club today. When will we know the outcome of that? 371402[/snapback] Well knowing the Rovers PR machine, we won't until Jansen does go in which case they will probably then say something about how they were planning on selling him after they had told everyone and will investigate the major cock up.

Cant they?
S15 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 We will probably know he's gone when he's in Boltons lineup on Jan 15th, and not a moment sooner.

philipl Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 No announcement yesterday. Either an announcement this morning or he is staying for the time being. The sensible thing to do would be to retain ties but with Jansen free to look (which the PR has achieved) and Rovers equally looking for a replacement. It's in the lap of the Gods as it were. Would still be great to see Matty have a decent run against QPR. He is never likely to have a higher motivation to do well.
neekoy Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Have already removed him from my Football Manager game. He has to go now then due to the amount of time it actually takes to change some details on that bloody editor.
