Ozz Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 What I want to know is did he actually physically rip the contract up, or is it all metaphorical?
S15 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 What I want to know is did he actually physically rip the contract up, or is it all metaphorical? 373922 I heard they executed it with a little chopper, ala Judge Schnider in The Simpsons.
Bobby G Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Read the open letter from Matt. Really great to see such a relationship between a player, a club and its fans. Makes you proud to be a Rover!
USABlue Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Just read Matt's letter, what a class act. I hope he can continue to forge some form of career. One of the saddest days in my football supporting life when I came to the realization the Matty we knew and loved was, in fact, lost forever. What a crying shame, he was superb. Effin Sven. Good luck Matty.
thenodrog Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Effin Sven. 374130 Even a dedicated 'Sven Out' campaigner like myself cannot see any reason to blame him. Just imagine though in a parrallel universe if he had picked Matt it could have been Martin Keogh nutting that Roman taxi instead ..... ..... and nobody would have ever noticed!
key76 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 ...except the taxi driver would have had the biggest & ugliest face impression permanently imprinted in his taxi!
Ronin Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Read the open letter from Matt. Really great to see such a relationship between a player, a club and its fans. Makes you proud to be a Rover! 374128 Seconded. Makes a refreshing change, hope he gets his career back on track (except against us, of course )
Esulx Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Looks like Pearce has decided not to offer that career lifeline!!! http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=35...nel=premiership
Presty On Tour Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 all the best matty jansen!!!! well guted it never worked out but we all have the immense memories and i'll still wear my blackburn rovers shirt with jansen on the back proudly!!!
rovers4ever95 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Just heard from a good source Jansen has signed for Bolton and is in the squad tommorow!!!!!!!!!!!
rover6 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Off the Trotters' official site. BOLTON WANDERERS Football Club have beaten off stiff competition from other Premiership Clubs to sign striker Matt Jansen until the end of the season. Jansen, 28, who was released by Blackburn Rovers earlier this week is Sam Allardyce's second signing of the transfer window. Commenting on the capture of Jansen, Allardyce said: "Matt has great potential, even though he hasn't been involved with Blackburn of late and I do believe he has the right qualities to resurrect his career here at the Reebok. I am looking forward to working with him between now and the end of the season and I hope he can recapture the form that made him one of England's best strikers a couple of seasons ago." Jansen made 182 appearances for Blackburn Rovers over a seven year period and scored 57 goals in all competitions. Jansen is available to face his former team at Ewood Park tomorrow and will wear the squad number 17.
tchocky Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Well good luck to him is all I can say. Just don't score tomorrow. If he plays, I hope he doesn't get booed. Btw, R6 - time for an update to that sig of yours. Time to remove Gray maybe also?
Claytons Left Boot Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Two divisions lower and he'd stand a chance. Still wish him well though.

Ozz Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Just don't score tomorrow. If he plays, I hope he doesn't get booed. 374195 Both events are highly unlikely.
Jan Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I sort of hope he does play, as it'll mean they only have 10 men on the pitch
SAS Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 its amazing how a useless player for us can be very useful for bolton its about time the paid money for some one
Nayef Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I just think it's too ironic that he signs for a team that will play at Ewood Park the next day. If he comes on as a sub, it's hard to shake off the suspicion that he'll score against us...
JamieUK Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 "I am looking forward to working with him between now and the end of the season and I hope he can recapture the form that made him one of England's best strikers a couple of seasons ago." Haha try 4! Gone down a little bit in my book by signing for one of our immediate and local rivals. Good luck to him though I suppose - If anyone can turn him round it's got to be Big Sam. Not sure how he will fit in with their 4-5-1 formation - on the left?! Not his best position though and he'd be crap up front on his own.
Napoleon Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 It's a sign of the weakness of Bolton's squad with the African players away that a guy who has is way short of match practice can go straight into the squad the day after signing.
roversmum Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Not nice, Matty, suppose you had to take your chance, but (pass the bucket) Bolton???????????????????????????????????
herbergeehh Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Well, he did want to stay in the Lancashire area, can't really say I blame him for signing for Bolton. Allardyce has done well with players out-of-favour in the past, and it's a top ten Premier League club. I feel pretty certain it was the best offer he could get. Here's to Matty having a good game tomorrow, and to Blackburn trashing Bolton.
Radagast Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Uuurgh. That didn't makes for pleasant reading. The chance to stay in the Premiership, not move house and for his new club to be (just) above us in the league must've seemed too good to be true.
