G Somerset Rover Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 (edited) Reports say that Nelsen will now be out until Christmas. Que another good post Christmas run then. I just pray that's the last we will have seen of this injury on the Admiral Guess Hughes was a little out with his "Weeks not Months comment". Edited September 12, 2006 by Somerset Rover!
greggyk Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Yup,from this ITV report Better than i thought thats he's back for X-mass, I was told he'd be out for the rest of the season. Although he'll probably never fully recover from this injury.
pleasure Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 see you in january then, admiral. doesnt sound promising. bet pompey are glad they didnt spend 5.5 M on him (he'dve failed the medical anyway).
Radagast Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Hmm. Not good news at all. Hopefully this won't end up being one of those injuries that runs on several weeks longer than initially diagnosed and eventually ends his season by the time he's match fit to play a top team game.
Welshrover1981 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 difficult 1st half to the season me thinks. Ahh well Henchoz, neill, brett, zurab, Oiijer, todd mcCeavely will hopefully sought themselves out.
Hughesy Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Confirmed in the Lancashire telegraph that he could be out for up to 4 months. Get well soon!
Presty On Tour Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 4 months, this is well bad news!!!
Ozz Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Really good article on the official site on Ryans operation and recovery. Quite graphic in his description of the procedure too. Looks a bit a grim for a xmas return though. Rovers Co UK
thenodrog Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 can you not cut and paste it? I simply can't be bothered signing up (yet) again on the official board. It's just not worth it cos I keep forgetting my name and password.

Ozz Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I keep forgetting my name. Have you considered selenium and zinc supplements? From www.rovers.co.uk Ryan first sustained the injury in a league game with Everton at Ewood Park last December and despite playing a key role throughout the rest of the campaign, was unable to fully shake it off. The Kiwi defender then broke his leg away at Charlton in late April, but returned for pre-season fully rested and with a positive scan result to boot. But as the new season approached, Ryan admits that he perhaps didn't really give it sufficient time to heal and before long, his initially-torn hamstring attachment had become completely ripped from the bone. full story on the official site. Sorry guys, unless Lee says it's fine to cut and paste full articles, we can't do it.

RovertheHill Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I'm not sure you want to read it. I feel quite queasy now
G Somerset Rover Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 (edited) Thing is, Ryan's not only coming back from this injury-but he also broke his leg at Charlton didn't he? Only a small break-but still a break. Sorry for being pessimistic here, but it may take quite some time-if ever-before we see the Admiral back to his best. Edited October 13, 2006 by Somerset Rover!
thenodrog Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Damn! Thats a bollaxx! In hindsight it would have been a fantastic bit of business to have sold him to Arry's Pompey then wouldn't it?
philipl Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Damn! Thats a bollaxx! In hindsight it would have been a fantastic bit of business to have sold him to Arry's Pompey then wouldn't it? That's right- they are so backwards, they don't have medicals.
philipl Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Nelsen says he's way ahead of recovery schedule in award acceptance speach.
G Somerset Rover Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 God I hope that this article is correct. IF he did recover his form of old, which he sounds confident of, then que another good run in the league as I said above.
AggyBlue Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Nelsen says he's way ahead of recovery schedule in award acceptance speach. Good find and great news
