Robertson Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Was not the greatest match to watch but the interaction between the fans was of a high comedy value. We were singing 'souness out' and the nufc fans applauded us... Our fans again were fantastic, it is a shame the same atmosphere is not reciprocated at ewood Looked like being a draw until the goal, we were much the better side in the second half, still can't believe dickov missed the chance in the first half, was a sitter! so am a happy man, we are on the up and there was a glint in my eye as I watched the protests unfold, it must be depressing watching that week in week out, reminded me of us under souey in the latter part of his reign. well done lads!

colin Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 p.s. who said Morten doesn't score tap inns!!! 376597 Mea Culpa, but right now I don't care. Three points, up to eighth, and out of our last seven league games W5 D1 L1. Bring on the Red Scum
Bobby G Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) Won every single time MGP has scored in the league. Long may it continue... Draw wouldve been fair but the way Newcastle stole the 3 points at Ewood, it was payback... Kinda feel sorry for Souey. Our defence was brilliant, Tugay was brilliant and MGP had one of his better games, not to mention young Peter was impressive and promimising. Finally a player willing to take on defenders. Rover4ever Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I feel sorry for Souness as well. In all fairness, how would we have performed if Tugay, Nelsen, Savage, Reid, Neil and Bellamy suffered long-term injuries? They have also been hard done by referees more than once this season. However all said, we deserved this result specially considering what happened at Ewood earlier in the season.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Great win! Delighted that we got them back for the mugging at Ewood earlier in the year! Onwards and upwards.
Jan Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I don't. I couldn't be happier- unless the report on the Newcastle board was true of course. I - to quote someone else- would love it, really love it, if we caused him to be sacked.
waggy Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 seen the goal,its laughable,its comedy,its lady luck
greggyk Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Good to hear Savage is now showing his form he hit while at Brum. I've heard several reports today saying he was fantastic. Started all our attacks and stoped all the Toon's!
adopted scouser Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 On for a treble now. Everton beat Arsenal We beat Newcastle Liverpool to tw*t fergies puffs tomorrow
emglch Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) excellent result. especially when the other team is managed by souness. who cares about how the goal came. btw, watch out bolton, blackburn is catching up Edited January 21, 2006 by emglch
SAS Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 we did ok, we werent brilliant, two similar teams, both had chances quite a 50/50 game
DudeAbides Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 WAAAAHHOOOOOO!!!! Chop Souey anyone? 376609 Classic!!!
colin Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Kinda feel sorry for Souey. 376696 Oooh you big softie. The bloke has earned millions from his football career, he's got a drop-dead gorgeous wife & young children. He should be walking his kids to school along the primrose-lined paths of leafy Cheshire and then playing a round of golf before going home to have carnal knowledge of his missus then picking up his kids from school. Later in the evening he takes the missus out to an exclusive restraunt where he plays footsie with her evening before taking her home for some more CK. As he drives the 19 year-old Swedish nanny home he stops at a convenient lay-by and......... The next day he travels first class down to wherever to have a cosy chat over a game of football with whoever Sky TV is showing and gets paid £ks for the honour. Later on in the day he meets his accountant to discuss tax evasion schemes and how to explain some oif his more bizarre purchases from Rangers. It's a hard life isn't it? No wonder you feel sorry for him.

Ewood Spark Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Now thats what I call a result. Dodgy handball, away win at Newcastle. Absolutely super. 376676 Didn't our last win at Newcastle also involve a dodgey handball, from Gally?
EIEIEIO Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Didn't our last win at Newcastle also involve a dodgey handball, from Gally? 376736 That too was a slam dunkin' win.
Lee Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 we did ok, we werent brilliant, two similar teams, both had chances quite a 50/50 game 376720 I know the view from the heavens isn't great but our midfield were bleeding brilliant today. Tugay took the micky, Savage ran and hustled at every opportunity and Steven Reid was strong as an ox with surging forward runs. At the back Lucas and Mickey Gray bombed forward at every opportunity, whilst Nelsen and Zura were imperious at the back, not only did they win pretty much everything in the air, but their distribution was good also. We should have been 2-0 up at half-time, the goal we scored was the least we deserved. For me, the performance was up there with the one at Wigan, the only thing it lacked was the goals. Sergio didn't look out of place when he came on, kept putting balls into the box, showed a great piece of skill to skip past one defender and then through two others. Pity Bellamy didn't play, he'd have had a field day.
Flopsy Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 any more news on Dickov - Gruniad says its his collar bone
Flopsy Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 because it doesnt say anything specific just the manager saying "we think its his shoulder" Anything definate? Or is it unknown still and people are guessing untill some scans / xrays are done?
Lee Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 He's out for several weeks. Whats more specific than that? Those comments were made fifteen minutes after the game.
tcj_jones Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 How did Sergio Peter play when he came on today? Watching MOTD, Reid seems to have a lot more confidence going forward these days and always manages to pick out the wide men. It looks like something that's been practiced in training and it succeeds in getting a lot of balls into the box.
Ozz Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Nelsen 1, Shearer A great Big Zero Savage super. Gray 1, Geordies A Great Big Zero Tugay ace Kuqi 1 Souness A great Big Zero Pedersen is Michael Jordan.
Jan Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I really enjoyed watching the game on Prem plus. Especially the loook on Sourmess' (thanks to the Geordies for an even better name for him) face. Isn't Mark Hughes just WONDERFUL!!!!
