DudeAbides Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Looks like the Dingles are in a panic... he could be on his way http://boards.footymad.net/mboard/fmb.php?tno=104

Billy Castell Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 You know you're sh_t when your star player is Adi Panicbuyi !.
sleepyjack Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 You know you're sh_t when your star player is Adi Panicbuyi !. 375143 Currently the second top scorer in the Championship, but don't let facts cloud your judgement.
Billy Castell Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Only because the 1st division is so mediocre, a burly clod like him can score. A terrible player in a terrible league.
Eddie Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 It's all relative isn't it? Good signing for the championship is a good signing for the championship. If we had a crap striker who was second top scorer in the premiership I wouldn't complain.
Billy Castell Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 You do have a point. It's just bewildering a team's fans panicing because Adi is on his way out. It doesn't sound right.
philipl Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Probably the best thing that could happen to the Dingles if Kirby doesn't pocket the proceeds. It's early enough in the window for Cotterill to get a new team with the proceeds. I'm surprised at Sheff U though- they should be buying for the Premiership now as Warnock bought a team to get out of their current division last summer. They don't need another clodhopper. Unless they have shed loads of cash, Sheff U are next season's Sunderland.
Billy Castell Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Sheffield Utd only seem to buy strikers. And Garry.
Neil Weaver Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Sheffield Utd only seem to buy strikers. And Garry. 375158 Errrr, and Craig Short. And Dizzy.
Radagast Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 They have gone through a power of strikers in recent seasons though. Warnock buys 'em, they don't start scoring immediately and he ships them back out.
Hasta Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 (edited) According to a report on radio Lancs Steve Cotterill has been rumoured to be the front runner for the West Brom job and his odds have been slashed all day. I believe he is doing a decent job keeping Burnleys head bobbing at Championship level and, were he to leave, one wrong appointment could not only stop the gap from closing ( ) but make it widen much much further. Edit - sorry, just seen the baggies thread. Should have been in there. Edited September 19, 2006 by Hasta
marvbfc Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 funny thing is, we are 3rd in the championship. we are not going to stay there, but saying were are just about staying up is somewhat harsh. suppose that those blue and white tinted spectacles have somewhat blown all normal reasoning out of the water
92er Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 And Cotterill or Kilby said you might be top after Saturday.
AggyBlue Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 funny thing is, we are 3rd in the championship. we are not going to stay there, but saying were are just about staying up is somewhat harsh. I wouldn't have a clue where they are. I've not looked at that table for years.
Brainfreeze Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I wouldn't have a clue where they are. I've not looked at that table for years. Ouch! That's gotta hurt.
marvbfc Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 does not hurt at all. just shows some rovers fans arrogance. it is all well and good saying you have not looked at where we are in the laegue for years, but i bet you look at it every week when we play. as for yesterday, we were by far the better team until captain @#/? got sent off(again) and we would have won. i am sure you all know THAT feeling though eh?

You'll get precious little sympathy here.
Fife Rover Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 does not hurt at all. just shows some rovers fans arrogance. it is all well and good saying you have not looked at where we are in the laegue for years, but i bet you look at it every week when we play. as for yesterday, we were by far the better team until captain @#/? got sent off(again) and we would have won. i am sure you all know THAT feeling though eh? Well said Marv. You tell us!! Oh, and for all the people that dont understand the difference; what Marv said above IS banter of an acceptable kind. Read and learn!
Billy Castell Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I'm going to be controversial........................and praise Cotterill. I think he's done a pretty good job at Burnley, and they're an outside bet for the play offs (although not promotion). He did a good job at Cheltenham, and will do a good job at West Brom .
ABBEY Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 does not hurt at all. just shows some rovers fans arrogance. bi am sure you all know THAT feeling though eh? o-2 ,5-0,2-1...30 years of not beating us gives us the right to arrogence when it comes to the dingles...SIMPLE
cletus Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I'm going to be controversial........................and praise Cotterill. I think he's done a pretty good job at Burnley, and they're an outside bet for the play offs (although not promotion). He did a good job at Cheltenham, and will do a good job at West Brom . Can i also 'praise' Cotterill? He is doing a decent job over the border in Yorkshire, BUT at the end of the day you can`t polish a turd. The championship looks very poor this year. No-one seems to want to run off with the promotion places like in previous years. The league is weak, Burnley are weak, but at the moment so are the 20 odd other teams. I predict Burnley will finish below half-way & just above the danger zone......in no mans land. If Cotterill had any ambition in him, he`d leave Burnley & move to a bigger club with a least 'some' potential. Afterall, you can put perfume on a pig......but it`s still a pig!
marvbfc Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 think you missed the highly exciting 0-0 draw at Turf Moor off there didn't you? To be fair, it might be 30?!!! years since we last beat you(27 isnt it?) and it might be another 30 till we next beat you, but it does not stop ME from supporting MY club. shame that real fans still exist eh? rather than the ones that have been spoonfed glory  not a dig at all of you, but im sure that some people will know what i am on about
Flopsy Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Spoonfed glory? Can I be so bold to go for ManUre and Chelsea? At least Arsenal worked at it and Liverpool seem to have achieved recently despite themselves
marvbfc Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 chelsea or Manure are not the topic of my discussion, although they are worse than what you were. but the point was aimed at all your part timers(not saying that we dont have any) that have since deserted you since your premeirship title
pleasure Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 (edited) MARV, can i pose a question ? if cotterill is poached, who would you choose as his sucessor? Edited September 26, 2006 by pleasure
