Just noticed that David Bentley has been called up to the England U21 side to face Norway.

Good times to be a Rovers' supporter, may Sparky's tenure

continue for many a year.

On the other side of the coin, lets' not forget that

Jonny Stead also factored in the U21 as a Rover

and look where's that's gone.

Im pretty sure he's played for the under 21s before though, correct me if i'm wrong!

Yeah, I think he has. I mean any English player that gets anywhere near the Gunners' first team usually goes straight into the next U21 squad.

He played versus Holland when the Under 21's played at the K.C. Stadium in Hull. I was there with me living there, he scored a screamer from about 30+ yards out.

I remember watching that match and whilst I was pleased to see Stead doing ok, I couldn't help but think "he's nowhere near the level of that Bentley lad - he's gonna be some player."

The under 21's have some excellent players in there at the moment. The young centre half Taylor from Newcastle, who is injured at the moment, is quite superb. Aaron Lennon from Spurs is also very good as is the younger Ferdinand.

lennon from spurs is mega fast, my tottenham buddy certainly rates him and as he plays on the left he thinks there is an outside chance of him going to the world cup this summer

I rate Lennon, but am not convinced by Ferdinand Jnr - he was at fault for a couple of the goals against us in the league at ewood and may be good in the future but now is just getting hyped-up because he's Rio's brother.

BTW - how many relations does rio seem to have Im sure there;s about 10 of his 'cousins' or uncles playing the lower leagues.

i thought bentley was 21 too.

as for lennon he can play anywhere in midfield though i have only seen him play on the left and right hand side of midfield for spurs so far.
