Should Dunny have come home?

  1. 1. Would you have signed Dunn?

    • Absolutely no way. The guy simply isn't fit enough for Premiership football

    • It's a big gamble, so probably not.

    • Sitting on the fence here.

    • Yes, even if he can't regain full fitness, the presence of a true roverite will lift everyone around the club.

    • Brilliant signing, he should never have left.

That Birmingham Mail article (repeated here http://icbirmingham.icnetwork.co.uk/mail/s...-name_page.html for anyone too lazy to scroll back to Dillo's post) seems to be very good news about David Dunn irrespective of where he is playing next season.

However, looking great whilst banging 5 past Burton Albion pre-season is a bit different from Prem and UEFA football.

The article does point towards Brum seeing Dunn as critical to their promotion push so I can only reiterate that any attempt to prise him away, particularly by Rovers, is going to cause a huge rumpus with the porn boys and girl.

That said, so many people with reason to have inside knowledge are very convinced he's coming home and Rovers are very quiet about the inevitable mid-field strengthening signing they will make this summer.

I really hope Dunn's return to health and to Rovers are both true.

Yes, a very good summary. No what if this or what if that, no maybe's, no punctuation, just pure fact in one non-stop sentence. Compact!

Well obviously you have understood that waffle Herbergeehh. Would you care to translate it into English for the rest of us please?

Should Dunn come home? Yes! Will Dunn come home? No! I haven't seen any evidence from Hughes or Rovers sources to suggest he is.

There you are, fife!

PS: Don't mind us, pick, we're just pedants with little else to do :)

Thank you herbergeehh for your "translation" and for taking the trouble to do it.

I am most impressed by your patience, and at the same time ashamed by my own stupidity at not being able to see that. I must be losing it completely!;)

Always prepared to help people with language problems, English is a complex and almost mystical language, and it can sometimes be very difficult to fully understand. Please, do not hesitate to ask should there be more problems, it is after all what I am here for.

.... D. Johnson is Big-Club's new captain!

Blowing my own trumpet again but I posted somewhere on here sometime ago that I was impressed with what I had seen of that DJ Cameron fella. Sounds like he did well..... albeit against Burton Albion!

Feel free to start doing articles like that on DJ Campbell as "one tenth of Emile Heskey's price" and "recently joined from Ryman league", but fact is he was signed for 600k at a time when Birmingham struggled against relegation, to save them. He didn't perform at all, and is in no way a bargain by Steve Bruce.

Think you might have missed those two out Herbergeehh. I guess the sources must belong to Rovers and Hughes so need an apostrophe.

Not Dunn, but some interesting news on another former Rovers midfielder.

West Brom and Brum battle over Thommo

The Big Club are slowly becoming a haven for Rovers rejects: Damien Johnson, Martin Taylor, Alex Bruce, Neil Danns, and now David Thompson? (Granted, Johnson has turned out to be a good player). For a club as massive as Birmingham, it's strange to see them all over Blackburn's sloppy seconds, huh?

Happy reunion! But its unlikely they will ever see Duff.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was in Rubery last night, that is near Bournville in the midlands.

Whilst having a lovely chinese meal, I spoke to the original fatboy Mickey Quinn. Just a quick hello led to a few more exchanges of conversation about football. I had bumped into him in Germany whilst he was with the talksport team.

He was telling me about J Pennant going to Liverpool which I found out was true on arriving home in the early hours. he also mentioned there were other departures on the cards from Brum due to a major fall out between Bruce and some of the senior players.

I mentioned DD and he indicated that he may be next on the exit bus, he didnt indicate where to or which vlubs may be looking at him but he has just been fined 2 weeks wages for internal disciplinary problems.

Am I right in saying someone on here said he may be a Christmas signing ?

Perhaps Christmas is coming early. :rover:

Then again regardless of being crocked, its taken DD three and a half years to fall out with Steve Bruce- I don't think it would take three and a half minutes for most of us to tell him what we think of him and his crackpot club.

From a Rovers' perspective, far better to see Dunny prove his fitness, sign a January 2 pre-contract agreement and winkle him out of Brum for a nominal sum for the second half of the season.

Seeing Rovers turning up to drive Dunny home in the next five weeks is bound to be too emotional an experience for Golds/Sullivan/Brady/Bruce and likely cost us a couple of million at least.

so i guess my source was right again about dunn coming in january

It would be great to get dunny but i think Hughes will be doing his summer shopping as if he isnt going to come back.

At least that way should he ocme we would already have a good attacking midfielder (Valencia please!!) and Dunny's arrival would be to add very good compitition for places....accross the entire midfield!

Or, playing Devil's Advocate, our Graeme was right all along. ;)

I was just about to post that same thing USA.

When it happened with him and multiple players it was a pattern. When it happens with Golden Boy and his last 2 managers, I'm sure none of it is his fault...
