roversmum Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I wouldn't bet on it. Let's just hope our lads keep their nerve, Eddie!

Eddie Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Let's hope so. If Wigan pass us though I think we'll be finishing below 7th.
Bobby G Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Lots depend on tonights fixture. A 6 point lead for Newcastle and Wigan should be comfortable enough and 8 over Bolton, albeit with an extra game played would probably mean that they have to win all 4 remaining games. Come on Rovers.
waggy Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 i've gone for 8th,which is well above my pre-season prediction which was a couple off places above last season.to me 5th place is beyond my wildest dreams, after watching all home games and several away i still cannot believe we are 5th.wba away was worse than anything i have seen during sparky's tenure, but the arse, manure at home and wigan away have been brilliant.too me we are punching above our weight, and i have gone for another 16pts gained this year. spuds-0 villa-3 boro-3 sunderland-1 wigan-3 pompey-0 liverpoo-3 brum-0 chelski-1 [they win the championship]causing uproar as chelsea fans are in rovers areas!!!!!!!! charlton-1 citeh-1 388258 still 2 pionts behind in my predictions,no team could get 5pts from 21 and still qualify for europe could they
FourLaneBlue Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 (edited) 4 points should be enough for sixth place. If we can't win one game out of the last seven then it has nothing to do with 'finding our level'...it's just a God-awful run that any club in the Premiership other than Sunderland would view as quite simply not good enough. Fife Rover Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Have to beat Charlton to regain momentum. 400788 And just at a time when Charlton seem to have found a bit of form!
Presty On Tour Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 i dunno if people realise but it is still possible for us to qualify for the champions league. if arsenal and spuds draw on saturday they are 8 points clear and then if they both lose all of their remaining league and champs league fixtures and we win all of our remaining games then we will take 4th i wonder what the odds on that are??? keep the faith
Eddie Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 I'll give you pretty good odds and take your bet if you want.
asianRover Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 (edited) imo 4th place is out of reach. just like looking up at the stars. CL was so close yet so far. i cant possibly see spurs and gunners losing their remaining matches. as for rovers winning all their remaining matches, i just cant see it. tcj_jones Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 IMO if we don't beat Charlton we will have thrown away our chance at Europe.
Ozz Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Spurs in the box seat for 4th with a draw at Highbury,1-1. Dirty Davids sent off, bet Lucas liked that one.
Rover4ever Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Spurs are way out of their skin, they have never been to the dizzying (by their standards) heights of 4th place, and they are willing to cheat and play dirty just to get into Europe.
bellamy11 Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Charlton are doing their best to stop Bolton creeping up on us. They're currently only losing 3-0. I guarentee that they will play like demons against us though.
brfcshabba Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Newcastle are 2-0 up against West Brom. Didn't really expect West Brom to get anything out of that match anyway.
krislu Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Won't be suprised if we find ourself down at 8.place at the end of the sesason. Will result in no europe and no bellamy next season.
asianRover Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 lets hope that's not the case we absolutey must win against charlton if not, not only has it been bye bye champions league, but it will be bye bye UEFA as well
Manchester Blue Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Incidentally I understand that Newcastle have applied for Intertoto as well as Bolton. Very real possibility of us getting sod all at this rate. Whilst top ten will be a great achievement it certainly won't feel like it.
krislu Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Whilst top ten will be a great achievement it certainly won't feel like it. 401243 Finishing 8-10th aint a great achievement in my opinion.
bluebruce Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Finishing 8-10th aint a great achievement in my opinion. 401247 I concur. Every man and his dog might have predicted us to finish in the bottom half, but I never thought that would be our fate. I was always expecting top half, so if we continue playing this crap for the last three games, we'll have met my pre-season expectations- nothing more nothing less. As for my recent expectations...grr..
Manchester Blue Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Newcastle have now wiped out the goal difference and are level on goals scored as well. Bolton 4-1 up. Desperate times.
T4E Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Newcastle have just scored a third, which puts them level on points and goal difference with us. We've blown it, given it away - and to the worst possible team to boot.
promoted2001 Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Charlton game is now officially a must win game, no arguments about that!
tchocky Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Now now. Remeber that the barcodes have only two games left. All is not lost. In fact we can still finish 4th: - Spuds lose their last two and finish on 62 pts - Arse lose one, draw one and win one from their last 3 and finish on 62 pts. - We win our last 3 games and finish on 63 pts. This ten day break will do us good. I honestly still think we have a great chance of taking 6th.
