A relatively young Rovers reserve team where beaten 1-0 by Newcastle last night at the rain swept Christie Park Morecambe.

Newcastle went ahead just before half time with a goal from Michael Chopra and despite the presence of a fit again Paul Dickov and the experienced Dominic Matteo, Rovers failed to pull one back, in front of a crowd of just over 300, which included Mark Hughes.

Dickov making his come back after injury played for 75 minutes before being substituted.
