Paul Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 On a cold, wet, windy night Rovers fans queued for more than 13 hours for the chance to purchase tickets for the first leg of the eagerly anticipated UEFA Cup tie with Scottish Champions Celtic. The first supporters were reported to have arrived at Ewood Park at 7.45pm on Sunday evening to begin queuing for tickets that will go on sale at 9.00am this morning. At 7.00am the queue snaked two and a half times the length of the Blackburn End concourse, which was opened to shelter fans from heavy rain and strong winds. Stewards estimated the queue to be some 400 strong with more fans arriving every minute. The fixture with Celtic promises to be one of the biggest games at Ewood Park in recent years. Tickets for the second leg at Ewood will go on sale to season ticket holders at 9.00am on October 24th.
