BBC have eventually done goal of the season - we have three entries!!

Pedersen v Fulham

Reid v Wigan

Bellamy v Portsmouth

Although I can see that Gerrard's in the cup final will win, if Hanson and Lawrenson are choosing the winner

cant believe we have three goals in the goal of the season! This has just been the most fantastic season for us. Plus it was refreshing to see (with the exception of gerrard) no 'big name' scorers (thierry who?) which means that its based on the actual quality of the goal rather than just picking the best strike of the current media favourite.

my personal fav is the tugay goal against fulham - the same game as MGPs brilliant strike that did make it on the list.

Anyone know when the result is announced?

Bellamy's was the best of the lot. All the others are fantastic strikes but his was a fantastic strike after a fantastic run from halfway, outpacing the Pompey defence. Carbon copy of Owen's goal against Argentina, but on the other foot.

I'm not doubting that other goals were good if not better but the BBC Liverpool bias may shine through in their choice.

I have to agree with CM - Stevie " I can do no wrong " Gerrard will win - particularly if Lawro / Hansen are to choose, personally I will vote for Bellamy - outstanding run and a blinding finish.

I prefer MGP's goal because it is a great team goal with a superb finishing.

Not sure if it made the cut, but my favorite was the mid-air back heel by the young Charlton defender. They showed a goals of the season show here right after the season ended (don't remember who finished first) and it was the only one that made both Mrs American and I sit up and go "Holy schnikes!"

it would be class if the top 3 goals of the season were all 3 rovers goals. mgp for me, immense move and a world class awsome finish.

i agree with the above posts though, with the liverpool background of the bbc pundits, gerrards goal will more than likely win.
