LeChuck Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Such a tough group. I haven't seen who we play at home/away yet, but ideally for the home ties I'd like Feyernoord, as it's the most glamorous on paper, and Wisla, as they are the team I'd most fancy us to beat but teams from that region do tend to be extremely difficult on their own turf.
steven Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 OK OK OK OK OK. The fixtures were from the UEFA.com site but I copied the Champs league ones instead! Its late here in Sydney and some of us have been at work all day!! Next year though....

My thoughts exactly and if we have Wisla at home it minimises the travel effect for the players in the following PL game.
FourLaneBlue Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Tottenham and Newcastle have far tougher draws than us...stop worrying and enjoy it folks!
The Gull Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 You can fly to Krakow from Liverpool as well with Easyjet
pleasure Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 we'll walk that group. easiest of them all. gonna have a flutter on us winning the whole thing, while we're still at 25-1+ . the spuds and newcastle draws are hilarious! I've still got tea streaming from my nose!
pick32 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 easy group think it is between us and feynoord who win it. wouldnt mind feynoord and nancy away. dont realy want to be going to poland
Finch Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 If the top 3 go through you have to fancy us being able to progress.
Biddy Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Not that we know we are playing them away yet, but how the heck do you get to Nancy?
squaylor Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Not that we know we are playing them away yet, but how the heck do you get to Nancy? It's about a hundred miles East of Paris, I think. On the way to Strasbourg. Should be able to fly to Paris and get a train over.

james19830822 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 (edited) I'm not so optimistic, we have got a relatively better draw but we still face a tough schedule in the Premier League and the League Cup. We still rely on some key players and Admiral will be out until the end of the year. Edited October 3, 2006 by james19830822

Jan Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Not that we know we are playing them away yet, but how the heck do you get to Nancy? Probably quicker to fly to Luxembourg or Basel and drive or get a train.
Glenn Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 And official site ... The dates are as follows... Thursday 19th October: Wisla Krakow v Blackburn Rovers Thursday 2nd November: Blackburn Rovers v Basel Thursday 23rd November: Feyenoord v Blackburn Rovers Wednesday 13th December: Blackburn Rovers v Nancy.
Ricky Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Woulkd have preferred them to be the other way around. Krakow and Feyenoord are the two hardest away trips out of the 4 teams
philipl Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Krakow is one of the most beautiful towns in Europe but the fans have a bit of a nasty reputation. Feyernoord fans are nasty full stop. On footballing terms, just as well we are not travelling to Nancy (played 4, won 4 at home). We can and should win this Group with those fixtures.
nellybc Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Sorry to Abbey and a couple of others but away on the 19th will surely mean the bolton game going to the sunday YES !! result
