mattym Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 So what do people know about FC Salzburg? I know they are top of the league and unbeaten so far !!
modes98 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 ooo interesting, never been to austria. Just got to convince everyone else to go. Not the best draw ever but at least we are at home for the second leg! Bring on the 14th
Welshrover1981 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Not bad draw. Lets get us some wins from now to then so we are ready for the ties.
Daje Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 (edited) You forgot to mention Celtic!! No I didn't mention them as nooone saw Celtic as an easy match, as many did with the clubs I mentioned. Edited August 25, 2006 by Daje
Hughesy Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 How can we get there? what is it near to in Austria? Need to book flights!
only2garners Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 I checked some flight prices to Salzburg about an hour ago: - Cheapest thomsonfly from Coventry £121 Ryanair from Stansted £204! Swiss from Manchester £159 (with a change) Sky Europe from Manchester £169 All were for going on 14th and back on 15th. Should also be practical to fly to Munich and get a train. I've only checked BA for this and it was £300+
G Somerset Rover Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 When do group stages start should we get through?
Finch Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Are there any more teams to be drawn? (not got wireless or telly on)
bubblerrovers Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Only good thing is we have away leg first, they are a very good team if we play how we have recently we'll go out
only2garners Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Another option if you've got the time is the train. More exotic and no cheaper than current flight prices but whilst the flights will get more expensive the train probably won't. http://www.seat61.com/Austria.htm#Salzburg
3recurring Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 how many does their ground hold? 16,850 Apparently they're managed by Lothar Matthäus...
nellybc Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 They do fly from coventry to salzburg. That is with thomsonfly
SAS Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 can you not go to other austrian airports only a small country isnt it? ive had £101 to vienna i think
Glenn Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Booked. Date Flight No. From Departs To Arrives 13/09/2006 TOM 5283 Coventry 12:00 Salzburg 15:20 15/09/2006 TOM 5284 Salzburg 16:45 Coventry 18:05
Ricky Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 booked up £120 from Coventry. Please don't let it be changed now On the same flights Glenn I'm travelling on my own so it'll be good to see some familiar faces
T4E Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 So what do people know about FC Salzburg? They're actually known as "Red Bull Salzburg" and claim to be a "new club with no history". As you might imagine, this mindset has split their fanbase considerably - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bull_Salzburg
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 (edited) Coached by Giovanni Trappatoni! Tricky tie indeed! Edited August 25, 2006 by SIMON GARNERS 194
