den Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Five previously and then last night makes six. 404436 Fabulous - and the last small town, big club to do that was?
OJRovers Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 (edited) IMPORTANT QUESTIONS: a) What round do we enter in? When is the draw for this round? c) What are the dates (if decided) of the first / second legs of the match? d) Who are the potential opponents from other leagues? Also - are we seeded to avoid (eg) a big spanish team in the 1st round? Edited May 3, 2006 by OJRovers
sausagemandog Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I just don't fancy being stabbed 404378 Dont recall any of us getting stabbed on the trip to Ankara, plenty of Ale and laughter but certainly no stabbings !
theresonly1alj Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Does anyone have a list of what teams we could possibly face?
Jim J Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Format of UEFA cup explained. Still not sure what round we would enter.
Hughesy Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Prague would be good - cheap beer!! Otherwise to start with id prefer either a team from France, Portugal, Italy, Spain or Germany.

So long as it isnt to the far reaches of eastern Europe like the last two times!
CAPT KAYOS Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Well if anybody had any doubts I think this should clear it up from the UEFA.com Europe here we come!!
Oklahoma Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 From Portugal, Vitoria Setubal would be the easiest. Plus, it's Mourinho's home town, the club where he played. So it would make it even better to beat them.
14May1995 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 You better start saving because I'm not bloody paying this time 404412 Still hurts eh? And then there's your wallet!!!!
USRoverME Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 (edited) Format of UEFA cup explained. Still not sure what round we would enter. 404449 and the full .pdf of the rules are here: Click ME! I'll be perusing them soon to try and ferret out some details..... edit: these are the 2005/2006 rules, and MAY not be valid for 2006/2007, annex 1A says we'd enter first round, but AFTER the qualifiying rounds, which means any team is in play, even teams losing in the CL. We'll get one home and away, and then when we move on, there'll be a group round, groups of 5 teams, top 3 advance. Ithe "draw" appears to be seeded, by a formula in Secion IV 6.03 of the .pdf. But with the Defeated CL teams entering, and the Qualifying round to be played, I'm not sure how early that can happen. Edited May 3, 2006 by USRoverME
doctorryan Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Does anyone have a list of what teams we could possibly face? 404446 Teams qualified for the 2006/2007 season of the Champions League and the UEFA Cup

all you need is duff Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I fancy a trip back to Bulgaria. 404384 After hearing about that Liverpool fan...NO THANKS.

More places to stay and visit.
bluebruce Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Well if anybody had any doubts I think this should clear it up from the UEFA.com Europe here we come!! 404469 It says 'all rights reserved' at the bottom...that better mean our right to Europe!!
CAPT KAYOS Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 (edited) After hearing about that Liverpool fan...NO THANKS. 404482 Thats Liverpool - not Rovers Bulgaria was tremendous and an experience as many will testify Edited May 3, 2006 by CAPT KAYOS
AggyBlue Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 e) WHERE IS THE FINAL BEING HELD? 404459 Nice one, I like your confidence
Hypo-Luxa Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I'd fancy a match-up with Start Kristiansand. That way we can get a good view of that Haestad kid...if he's still there, of course...or Lyn Oslo to say hello to our old friend Henning... Plus, Bet24 would love either of those match-ups
Lathund Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I'd absolutely love it if Rovers came to Gothenburg to play IFK. My two favourite teams in the world, both playing in blue and white (Well not in that specific game ofcourse). Could perhaps also open Hughes eyes to a couple of good youngsters at the club, such as Oscar Wendt, Karl Svensson, Marcus Berg and Pontus Wernbloom.
Manchester Blue Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Thats Liverpool - not Rovers Bulgaria was tremendous and an experience as many will tesify 404495 I'll back that up. Would love another trip to Bulgaria. Many a happy memory from that particular trip.
