Manchester Blue Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Rather worryingly they won 17-1 at the weekend howvever I founf this result from there game before: Bulls defeated 0:1 by Billy Goats in warm-up game now if a bunch of goats can beat them surely we've got to be able to.
The1mattjansen Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Just called the ticket office who have apparently sold nearly 300 tickets so far. Still considering this one.

You just need to clip their 'wings'.
Ste B Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Rather worryingly they won 17-1 at the weekend howvever I founf this result from there game before: It was a friendly against some pub team.

Ricky Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I always find it strange that peaople head abroad and look for the nearest Irish themed bar.
Gav Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 I always find it strange that peaople head abroad and look for the nearest Irish themed bar. The Irish bar in Sofia the night before the game, and as Steb pointed out the English pub in Lyon were memorable to say the least. Wednesday night in either pub will be good if everyone heads there.
SuperStella Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Yeah I will probably head there.... are you on the Coventry flight GAV? Just realised, that the 1st night were in Austria its 1st night of Champions League. Man Utd v Celtic. Not that we'll be able to see it.
Ste B Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Not that we'll be able to see it. Having been in the same pubs as you on previous Euro trips, I would be surprised if you could see anything by the end of the night.
Ricky Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I'll be in the bar at Coventry as soon as I've checked in. Hoping to get a couple of beers on board before flying. Gav, Superstella, I wasn't having a go about heading off to the Irish bar, It just seems to be one of those strange English things. I've ended up in Irish bars in Madrid, Portugal and Finland over the last few years.
SuperStella Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 No, you're right Ricky. To be honest. I'd rather go in the local Austrian-style bars cos the Irish ones always charge more for beer!
Glenn Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 It was O'Malleys and The Shamrock I've been trying to contact (as I figured, as Gav points out, many people will gravitate towards them anyway). They haven't replied, but meh, they seem to be the ideal location. I don't intend spending that much time in there mind, as I'd prefer to be in real Austrian places, it's just a handy meeting place. See you both in the bar at Coventry airport
Ste B Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I suggest that if its nice we pay a visit to This Beer Garden one afternoon.

AndyR Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I have read that the food there is expensive and very poor, the locals take picnics etc apparantly. I'll just give the food a miss and stick with the Steins!

Gav Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 I'm sure there'll be a McDonalds if needs must! Jordan outside McDonalds in Sofia was a sight to behold 18yrs old or not he was a disgrace to everything English

Biddy Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Has anybody seen / posted whether our game has been picked up by any broadcasters as yet? I have seen that Five are showing Newcastle and Spurs, ITV4 has West Ham and BBC1 Scotland are showing Rangers. Have we been forgotten about again or is this being shown somewhere?
