Rovermatt Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 (edited) Pirlo. Arguably the best playmaker in the world, one of Milan's highest paid players, a World and European Cup winner... Quality. Edited October 16, 2006 by Rovermatt

Eddie Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Come on guys, he wouldn't turn down the chance to play at Ewood.
BuckyRover Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 This may be a long shot, and you might argue he is more of a winger/striker, but I think Ronaldinho playing as a creative attacking midfielder behind the two strikers might be just what we need. What do you think?

What do you think? not sure mate, we could play Bentley or Gallagher in that role..and they are young and talented, Ronaldinho is getting old and is a bit overrated
LeftWinger Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 cant see it being a season long loan because we need a midfielder anyway, i think we should splash out on a quality player someone like pirlo, maniche or del assendro. or maybe someone english like reo-cocker or barton. Pirlo and Maniche - Dreamworld D'Allesandro - too lightweight to play in a 4 man midfield Barton - Just signed a new deal Reo-Coker - West Ham fans have been less than impressed with him this season

What do you think? Nah he's way out of our league. I like the look of that Kaka' fella though. Sergio Aguero or Lionel Messi would be good signings but they lack experience...
pick32 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 pirlo is in a dream world bit like when west ham fans dreamin about macherano and tevez. maniche isnt a dream world we could easily sign him, barton would come for the right price. and i would personaly like to see reo-cocker at rovers.
The1mattjansen Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 What is the average age of the above 10-12 posts?
Tris Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 What is the average age of the above 10-12 posts? 1 hour and 46 minutes as of now

Tevez and Mascherano are owned by some dodgy sports agency. Pirlo is not. This would also happen to be the same sports agency that was looking to buy...West Ham. Edited October 16, 2006 by Rovermatt
The1mattjansen Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I was thinking poster age, but interesting all the same.
LeftWinger Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 1 hour and 46 minutes as of now Tickled me that
andyrovers Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Just heard that Reidy has a stress fracture in his back and will be out for at lest 4 months Speedy recovery Riedy
G Somerset Rover Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) Two of our first names on the team sheet wiped out until Feb at the earliest. We really, really need to avoid injuries to the midfield now. Blooming hell, Dhorosoo anyone? Get well soon Reidy! Edited October 17, 2006 by Somerset Rover!
dillo_dillo Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Get well soon Reidy!! REID RULED OUT http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/...l&TEAMHD=soccer
SAS Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 we have had terrible bad luck with the key players here with injuries how unlucky is that, two of the strongest players imagine if we had them playing..
cn_barlow Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Seeing as though Reid got injured playing for Rep. of Ireland...will we get compensation for it?
Grabbi Graeme Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 In a word NO It is a wonder that noclub has tried to claim for compensation when their player gets injured while on International duty, as in the strange world of the legal system anything is possible
Nate Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 In a word NO It is a wonder that noclub has tried to claim for compensation when their player gets injured while on International duty, as in the strange world of the legal system anything is possible Didn't the FAI pay us some cash when Duffer or somebody got injured while on International duty? Or did I just make that up?
Grabbi Graeme Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I can't remember us ever getting anything like that, if a club successfully gets compensation that would open the floodgates for any club to claim.

Found this. Whether it was actually paid or not, I'm not sure. Was for Duffers wages while injured on International duty. Duffer Edited October 17, 2006 by DownUnderRover
twinkletoes Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Never mind compensation from the FAI, how about from the quack - presumably there wasn't a fracture there beforehand or it would have been seen on the 1st scan. (See the Sporting Life link above). I'm no orthopaedic surgeon but even if it was there before I presume being "pulled and twisted all over the place" isn't the best treatment for a fractured back.
RoyRover Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I hope Reidy gets well soon, as he is one of our key players. We will certainly need to bring in someone to replace him.
Bobby G Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Injury or suspension to Tugay or Savage and we will be left very thin in the middle with not much options other than Mokoena. Priority must be a central midfielder for January.
