The maths on the article in the Express were off. They said something like we bought him for 3.25 and paid his agent 500k. Then we sold him for 2.5, which was the same as we bought him for minus the agent's fee. Obviously, 3.25 mill minus 500k isn't 2.5 mill. I don't know about anybody else, but reading the article in the Express I personally felt like they had nothing on us at all. And the word 'theory' was bandied about in ours- the other three transfers all seemed much more anchored in fact. Then again, Rovers have made no comment, whilst one of the other accused parties (I forget who) have denied it outright. This worries me a bit.

The speed of that was rather strange. The excuse given was down to the climate not being suitable for his ill daughter I seem to recall...I mean, it's not that bad in the North West is it? It was only about September at the time :o

Whatever the reasons, it was a very quick turnaround in that transfer indeed. Two agent fees for the same player in three months? As you say, it meant Rovers ended up losing out on a very good player.

Very similar to Boumsong's free transfer to Rangers and swift £8m move to Newcastle. No doubt in my mind there was an agreement in place that he be moved on at the first available opportunity - Rangers make a tidy profit, Boumsong and his agent get two signing on fees and a move to a higher profile league after spending a few months slugging it out in the SPL.

Looks like Kevin Bond is being fingered by the Panorama programme. Apart from being son of John of blessed memory, Bond junior was deputy to 'Arry and is now deputy at Newcastle. Perfect CV.

The Guardian also runs a piece about the likely West Ham takeover not concluding anything much otther than the Russian/Georgian/Iranian chaps are secretive and seem to know a certain Israeli agent rather well.

In terms of the future of the game there are two significany pointers:

- West Ham are of course close to the 2012 Olympics site which is having difficulties making the sums work and a soon to be brand spanking new 80,000 seater stadium. Perhaps Berezovsky will show his gratitude for a British passport by funding West Ham to fund the stadium on cash that in part came through Brasil???

- Spuds are seriously looking at taking advantage of the unholy mess involving Multiplex and the FA by buying Wembley.

Good! Obvious from the shennanigins from the start when London 'won' the race for the new National stadium that this would all end in tears. Is it too much to now expect a plethora of rolling heads over this?

Now how about an exact carbon copy of the millenium just off that nice M6 toll road? :tu: Or is that just wishful thinking?

Oh god no - the Motorway network round brum's barely coping as it is - it'd be right stuffed if you stuck a 100,000 seater stadium by the M42.

Its bad enough when the NEC's got something on.

Still, anyone else think this is another "Spurs nearly signs...." storey?

The Express seem to be having a bit of a downer on rovers- that's the second lump of dirt coming at Ewood from their direction.

Will be interesting to find out what the club will do if it transpires Souness deliberately contrived to force Dunn out to take a dodgy transfer deal. Then there are the large payments to Rangers for Ferguson, Man U for Cole and Ternana for Grabbi...

Quite a few million there. Not forgetting the Amo purchase.

The Guardian taking a sanguine view of the forthcoming Panorama programme.

And you all wondered why I thought a certain manager was bad for our club.................. Last laugh city!

I hope the club has had the presence of mind to go onto the offensive on this one

- writing to Souness to seek his views, the Express for any assistance and talking to Stevens about engaging him to look into this Dunn transfer, the Perez transfer and any other now questionable transactions at the behest of the Rovers board.

Maybe the club should have been more on "the offensive" in the first place by keeping greater checks on its employees and their use of our money to finance distinctly dodgy deals .

Oh , and I'm glad you've finally accepted that the Grabbi deal (among others) may have been a little bit iffy . Next , you might just accept that certain members of our board might just be guilty of something other than negligence and incompetence in these cases .......

Nobody would go as they wouldn't pay the toll. ;) That road is so blissfully empty I look forward to going south these days

You're dead right there Paul. They'd need to half the toll cost for cars, let kids in for nowt, provide a muslim only lane and offer free fuel to and back before we'd even half fill our end.

Alternatively we could order a Millenium replica near Walton summit and completely pay for it by selling Ewood, Deepdale, Bloomfield and t'Turd to B&Q or Tesco.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that one of the accusations surrounding 'Appy 'Arry is tapping up Andy Todd!

As much as I like Toddy, surely 'Arry could reach a little higher if he has been a naughty boy as Panorama claims?

Is 'Appy 'Arry entering the porn industry then?

I was a bit suspicious about Mr. Grabbi, as the initial fee was said to be £4m, but as the story developed, the final fee was £6-7m. Either Terrana were fantastic negotiators and talked up the fee, or someone paid for their next house in cash. Would any people found out (unlikely as it is) face criminal procedings?

I don't know which post you are referring to but that's an agent called Charles Collymore whom Mike Newell has named and not Lucas Neill's man.

Guardian says Panorama will name names and will play a tape of Kevin Bond when he was with 'Arry at Pompey

Big sam expecting to be named.

Profile of Collymore that puts him in a good light.

I can't help feeling once i've watched this, that the sums of money involved will make me sick to the pit of my stomach.

the sums will be in excess of a good few years wages for most of us, and for what! Ohh and where does the money come from, errr that would be the football supoorters back pockets...(eventually )

Its gonna wind me up!!!!
