For those youngsters out there - Possibly the best intro to a song ever

When sticking three songs together in one single was almost compulsory - Turn the sound right up (just dont ask about the video - bloody students)

After seeing Jack White's new band the Raconteurs in Denmark recently, I've downloaded their album, and I must say I am impressed. The White Stripes is a fascinating band in many ways, but I've grown tired of them (plus their last cd.. sorry!) and this is a nice way to enjoy the genius White without having to listen to that minimalistic White Stripes sound everytime.

By the way, Raconteurs did a fantastic Bowie cover at the Roskilde festival, but now I can't remember what song. Argggh!

Oh, and I agree with most of the albums mentioned above. Can't go wrong with 'Ten', 'OK Computer', 'The Bends' and the Beatles really.

"What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?"

That song always makes me think that the Who were big baywatch fans.

I read this article on Sunday in the Observer and understood it to be a list of the 50 albums that most changed music, rather than the best 50 albums. I spend much of Sunday muttering about how cross I was that the Kinks weren’t in the list. I think they have had loads of influence on modern English pop music and you can trace their influence through the Jam, the Smiths, Billy Bragg, Pulp, Blur, Oasis and the Arctic Monkeys.

I’ve got 16 of the 50.

You cant beat a bit of Hammond Organ playing at the start of a song

You bloody heathen!

A Hammond is the greatest.

Jimmy Smith, legend. Some of the greatest Jazz is played on the Hammond.

selective edit there flops.
