I seem to remember that Bergen is the wettest place in Europe; at least that is what we were told when I visited Bergen in 1953 on H.M.S. Devonshire. Could that be the reason ? rolleyes.gif

2k+ at Blackpool,3k+ at Preston......we'll probably get around 1,000 tickets for Stanley if we're lucky!

Should be played at Ewood.

Whoooooo free tickets and a p!ss up hopefully at FE Stadium.

Why at Ewood? Theres no chance we'd even hit 8,000

And I dont think as many Rovers fans will go as you think either

i think demand will exceed supply @ the interlink.

in recent years rovers have had 'large' followings in pre season games and , particularly if playing NW sides, there are often more rovers fans than home supporters.

i went to grimsby last pre-season and was shocked to see rovers had a large following. those i spoke to werent that happy, as it was mostly a reserve side (same applied @ morc).

amsterdam tournamet? dont think itll happen but its a possiblity

No, Man Utd will particpate in this tournament.

Blackburn Rovers will play two friendlies in Holland, probably on 6th and 9th August. Opponents to be confirmed.

The team will fly back to UK on 10th August, to play New Zealand on the 12th.

We played friendlies at Vitesse and Volendam in 1996, but haven't heard any details yet for the upcoming matches. Many English teams are playing friendlies in Holland this summer : Aston Villa, Ipswich, Sheffield United, Boro, Chelsea, Man Utd etc.

Minicruise to Rotterdam (and transfer to Amsterdam)

Cheap way of seeing Holland, two nights on the boozing on the boat in and out on top!

You may not be doing much boozing on the crossings if the North Sea produces a "drop of roughers" as we used to call it in the Navy.;)

Crossed at all times of year, can hardly tell the boat is moving its so big. Besides bar opens at 4pm boat sails at 9pm. Most times I dont even realise we have set off but that will be the booze!

Casino, cinema, live entertainment, cabin for the nights all for around 60 quid, much better than flying on cheap and not so cheerful airlines. Transfer to Amsterdam for a tenner.

 haha! I once nearly went on a cruise. I told one of the old-timers in the pub that i got sea sick but it was only the med, so i`d be ok :tu:

He laughed & said "might be 'only the med' but it can throw up a bloody good storm like anywhere!" he then went on to tell me about being in on a troop ship in the med during WW2 in a massive storm, with thousands packed together like sardines....not very nice :(

I ended up not going.

Have been to Rotterdam. Apparently the outskirts are OK for a beer (didn't have enough time to check), but the centre ... flipping giblets batman, as boring as hell!

The airport is a bit bigger than Blackpool's. some geezer emerges from a shed to transfer you to town ...

The highlights are a bunch of square houses which look like stacked dice and a great big tower which you can go up and survey the boring boring boring landscape. And there's barely any pubs, just a couple of irish ones.

You're better off staying in Amsterdam and training it on the day, think it takes 40 mins or so.
