Fife Rover Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 No need for that tone, mate 408600 I seem to remember that Bergen is the wettest place in Europe; at least that is what we were told when I visited Bergen in 1953 on H.M.S. Devonshire. Could that be the reason ?

herbergeehh Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Erm.. sure, why not! Plus, it's surrounded by mountains, not the easiest city to travel to
Dan Furness Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 2k+ at Blackpool,3k+ at Preston......we'll probably get around 1,000 tickets for Stanley if we're lucky! Should be played at Ewood. 407411 Whoooooo free tickets and a p!ss up hopefully at FE Stadium. Why at Ewood? Theres no chance we'd even hit 8,000 And I dont think as many Rovers fans will go as you think either

BRFCHolland Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Just heard that Blackburn Rovers will play some friendlies in Holland between 5th and 10th August. Has anyone got more information on dates and venues ? Anyway, looking forward to these matches.

BRFCHolland Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 thanks for that, are these teams expected to be in first division or lower league teams. who do you think we might play We played friendlies at Vitesse and Volendam in 1996, but haven't heard any details yet for the upcoming matches. Many English teams are playing friendlies in Holland this summer : Aston Villa, Ipswich, Sheffield United, Boro, Chelsea, Man Utd etc.
BRFCHolland Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 More details announced Quite late announced. Anyway, good to see Rovers visiting my country.
Jordan Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Looking forward to both trips, should be an expensive summer.
OscarRaven Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Looking forward to both trips, should be an expensive summer. Minicruise to Rotterdam (and transfer to Amsterdam) Cheap way of seeing Holland, two nights on the boozing on the boat in and out on top!

You may not be doing much boozing on the crossings if the North Sea produces a "drop of roughers" as we used to call it in the Navy. Edited June 17, 2006 by Fife Rover
OscarRaven Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 You may not be doing much boozing on the crossings if the North Sea produces a "drop of roughers" as we used to call it in the Navy. Crossed at all times of year, can hardly tell the boat is moving its so big. Besides bar opens at 4pm boat sails at 9pm. Most times I dont even realise we have set off but that will be the booze! Casino, cinema, live entertainment, cabin for the nights all for around 60 quid, much better than flying on cheap and not so cheerful airlines. Transfer to Amsterdam for a tenner.
pksrover Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 looks like Jordan have talked me into going to germany for at least one of the pre season friendlies should be good fun!
cletus Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 You may not be doing much boozing on the crossings if the North Sea produces a "drop of roughers" as we used to call it in the Navy. haha! I once nearly went on a cruise. I told one of the old-timers in the pub that i got sea sick but it was only the med, so i`d be ok He laughed & said "might be 'only the med' but it can throw up a bloody good storm like anywhere!" he then went on to tell me about being in on a troop ship in the med during WW2 in a massive storm, with thousands packed together like sardines....not very nice I ended up not going.
Tris Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Couple of links for anyone thinking of a trip to Rotterdam for the game on 9th August ... Pics of the ground Ticket info From that link ... Supporters from Blackburn can buy tickets at the stadium on the 9th of august, outlet A is opened from 18:30 for the visitors-stand. Price is 15 euro.
broadsword Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 (edited) Have been to Rotterdam. Apparently the outskirts are OK for a beer (didn't have enough time to check), but the centre ... flipping giblets batman, as boring as hell! The airport is a bit bigger than Blackpool's. some geezer emerges from a shed to transfer you to town ... The highlights are a bunch of square houses which look like stacked dice and a great big tower which you can go up and survey the boring boring boring landscape. And there's barely any pubs, just a couple of irish ones. You're better off staying in Amsterdam and training it on the day, think it takes 40 mins or so. Edited July 2, 2006 by Bryan
Jordan Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Flights have now been booked. hotel booked in Kufstein for the Sunday night. Anyone else on the board staying in Munich?
