What exactly does the phrase "OO said as OO were agate with OO" actually refer to in your neck of the woods? Edited August 26, 2006 by thenodrog
Hannah Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 According to Teletext Dermot Gallagher has been pulled from the game he is meant to be reffing today - sounds like he is in trouble as well for giving a yellow card!
Dan Furness Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Said it and much worse many times when playing agin t'gobbiners from t'immanuel. btw dan you may be able to solve a long standing mystery here. What exactly does the phrase "OO said as OO were agate with OO" actually refer to in your neck of the woods? My god what is that supposed to mean????!!!!! If im reading it as you've wrote and trying to say it in my head it means you were doing something with someone, or discussing it.... or so I think. Can honest say not really used that sentence but if ive used the word 'agate' it means someone else in the equation
blue phil Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 "Agate" is a truly local expression which I'm surprised has reached Ossy ; hard to put a definition on it but generally means "...he/she was saying or doing something " ; ie ..he was agate (this or that)

blue phil Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Only ever heard the word used by people who have lived centrally . Didn't know it had reached the posh parts

T4E Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Was actually born in Swindon. We can probably blame this for his time spent at Millwall No no, blame it on Swindon.
Fife Rover Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Said it and much worse many times when playing agin t'gobbiners from t'immanuel. btw dan you may be able to solve a long standing mystery here. What exactly does the phrase "OO said as OO were agate with OO" actually refer to in your neck of the woods? I think it means"She said as she was speaking with her" But then again........?
philipl Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 First chance to see thyat incident. An absolutely sickening premeditated attack. After the Shanghai and Summerbee incidents, Thatcher should effectively be taken out of football for a very long time. What was the linesman on that side doing? - if I were Gallagher I'd be very angry that my lino missed that.
Shaddy Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 A very proper thing to do from Manchester City: Man City hand Thatcher ban & fine
Scotty Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 A very proper thing to do from Manchester City: Man City hand Thatcher ban & fine Please don't think City are doing this out of any sense of duty or honour. They are simply trying to pre-empt any action that the FA will take, and are hoping that the FA will now show some mercy.
3recurring Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Just spotted this on the NewsNow page... Rovers youngster on the end of awful Thatcher challenge
thenodrog Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Just spotted this on the NewsNow page... Rovers youngster on the end of awful Thatcher challenge Anybody noticed the linesman's interpretation? Should make the prem list in no time!
krislu Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 People like Thatcher should be sent to prison in my opinion. If he had done anything like that on the street he would have been in serious trouble.
Blueboy Downunder Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I am almost lost for words on how many times this ###### has done this in football and seemingly getting away with it. nobody will convince me that 6 weeks and 120k, will hurt him. the fa needs to adopt the same kind of treatment to repeat offenders, much like the world anti doping agency does, to drug cheats.
herbergeehh Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Punish him like the dog he is. I stand by my words.
blue phil Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 People like Thatcher should be sent to prison in my opinion. If he had done anything like that on the street he would have been in serious trouble. Doubt it . Probably get away with it completely ....
blue phil Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Realist more like . If Prince Hamed gets 4 months for breaking every bone in someone's body then I reckon improsonment for Thatcher is a bit much .....
M-K Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 First I've heard of that Rovers incident, or, indeed, Ralph Welch. Does anyone know why Rovers didn't want to report it?
3recurring Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Thatcher's now being investigated about the Welch incident too. http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/...c=ticker-103704
marvbfc Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 probably feels that now his career has gone down the pan, he might as well get some compo. time wasting idiot if you ask me
speeeeeeedie Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I hope they throw the book at the thug. He's been doing it for years looking at the evidence at hand. I've now read that players are coming out and saying that he is a nice lad. I've also read stuff in the past saying that he's the biggest nutcase in the dressing room. There is obviously something wrong with the lad, but given that he can play football all will be forgiven.
