For a tall guy his heading is woeful, he doesn't seem to relish the bodily contact that comes with making contested headers. Something needs to be done before the long ball to the far post becomes a tactic for all our opponents.

My dad made the comment a few years back - Emerton isn't actually Australian. Sure, by birth he is, but the way he conducts himself on a football pitch is at odds with how Aussies play sport - just look at Neill.

That said, he's done well at right back this year. Though I agree he's a liability in the air, and he loses his man too often for my liking.
